Fat mod

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 9:25 am

I would like a mod that would make you character very fat if you eat a whole lot of food and/or alcohol during a battle to stay alive. Then after you become very fat you run slower, have less stamina, and are more prone to disease. Certain foods also make you fatter like a big wheel of cheese as opposed to a n apple. This would be a must have mod for everyone. Also if you get too fat your wife will divorce you for sven.

This would be extremely hard to mod in, I think, since the skeleton is (probably) not designed with this as a possibility.

It would also lead to a whole new level of bragging. "I beat the game at level 12 in all iron gear on master difficulty... at maximum fatness"

Yes that is what I think! I would play a fat orc that stole food from everywhere and ate it. Ahhhh the possibilities would be limitless...

Omg I thought of another very useful feature of the mod. After you get married you and your wife slowly get fatter over time....something like +.063 pounds per day seems reasonable.

I always thought it's very odd how there are no fat people in RPGs.

In terms of mechanics, it shouldn't be hard. You can just apply invisible stat bonuses and penalties based upon an invisible fatness stat.

There have been plenty of food-related mods that involve needing to eat to survive, and some of the more advanced ones involved nutritional balance, as well. These serve as obvious models for this sort of thing.

The problem is actually having an in-game appearance change.

Hmm you can change the body weight during the character creation. I wonder if it would be possible to expand on that functionality?

I think they limit the size you can make your character because after a certain fatness you would require a new animation for all you actions, otherwise you would have your fat come past your arms and through your armor.

The most coding I have done is creating php modules for content management systems. Is there documentation on writing skurim mods?

Regardless of mechanics, there definitely needs to be the option to play a fat/rotund/corpulant character, and there should definitely be some fat NPCs as well. I find it hard to believe that some of the Jarls and other politicians in the game aren't huge, especially in Skyrim. I dont' know anything about animation or the capability to add an entirely new animation skeleton. How much work would this be?

Depends on the RPG. I still remember the fat tavern owner in Redcliffe from Dragon Age.

Currently all Bodies and Clothes have 2 meshes, Slim and Muscular versions, which it seems to be blending between. It would be interesting adding a 3rd Chubby body into the mix.
Heres hoping its possible to add more.

That opens up some interesting possibilities, actually.

It would also help with all those "body" mods that we had in Oblivion and the like, as well, where people would try to make different shapes of the characters. One I remember actually had about a half dozen versions for different chest sizes for women, but the thing would apply to every woman in the game. (Leading to the humorous 60-year-old beggar woman with the body of a supermodel phenomenon.) I remember it distinctly because there were hundreds of clothing options for that body mod that I had to filter against because I didn't use it.

If we have something like this, we could have characters with varying levels of fatness, muscularity, or other physical appearance reactions to your in-game actions. It would also allow for some of those idealized body mods that still allow some ugly people to exist.

With all the dragon slaying and dungeon raiding the Dovahkiin probably gets enough exercise to stay thin no matter how much you eat, but it would be nice to have some fat NPCs in the game.

Not if you are like me and eat 20 bowls of soup during a battle. This is probably the most essential mod that could be created, hopefully when the CCK editor comes out it won't be too hard to implement.

I don't really care about game mechanics (ie eating) that affect the way you look, but I would very much like to have an obscenely obese character. :D

I'd also like to play a fat character, because I think they're funny. I don't care about things like eating affecting your appearance.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/ActionDragon/Oblivion/WhatAHero15.jpg :)
It was just few clothing pieces you could wear. It didn't affect the shapes of other clothing pieces and armors.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37013 made every character use different skeletons allowing different body shapes. Also the clothing/armor changed shape.

With these two mods combined I had a fat character + armors that changed shape too.

It would be much easier to make something like VORB for Skyrim. Because adding bones to the skeleton.nif does not lead to the hadbanging bug that oblivion had. New weightpainting as i did with VORB for oblivion is not needed to add a bit diversity.
Doing some tests...

edit: jupp its easy to scale the bodies this time. trying to get fat girlies. If i am successfull i ll post screenshots.

Edit2: By inserting new NiNodes between existing Bones it is possible to scale the different bones like Spine,Spine1,Spine2 or L thigh and R thigh.
I have no time to do a new mod for diversity of bodytypes. But i am sure someone else will jump in and do it. It is very easy for anyone who has some skills with nifskope.

Here is a screenshot of a fat bard girly i made in some minutes.

 I guess I've to try that. I'm not very experienced with Nifskope though. Now if only there was an easy way to change character skeletons to different ones. Maybe Skyrim Script Extender is going to have that functionality.

For anyone who doesn't know character movement speeds can be adjusted from the console with "forceav SpeedMult x". 100 is default. "player.forceav SpeedMult 80" sets player's speed to 80%.
