A liitle investigation renders the idea Clintos must be referring to Ike on South Park...

I haven't watched South Park in so many years: not getting a regular intake of vulgarity is one of the pitfalls of not watching much telly...

Why are everybody's favorite Canadians, like, celebrities, eh? Canucks have made important contributions to society in more than just sports and entertainment.

People like David Suzuki, for example.

And, don't forget, it's a Canadian, Roy Brown, who's credited with shooting down the Red Baron (although the veracity of that account is in dispute).

In short: Take off, you hosers!

But if it's entertainers you want, what, no Leonard Cohen?

Also, Jack Layton RIP.

Terry Fox
Rick Mercer
George Strombolopolous
Pierre Trudeau
Amanda Tapping
Nathan Fillion
William Shatner
Russell Peters

There are others, but if I keep on going this will turn into my favourite comedians.

Uggh, Trudeau. I hope that man was smited into Oblivion. Fillion is Canadian? Same with Stromblahpoblblahblah? Didn't know that. I don't know if anyone added him, but Tommy Douglas is a favorite guy amongst a lot of people. He's probably up there with Terry Fox for popularity.

I think Plummer is pretty cool, especially voicing a Greybeard in Skyrim :P

OK...

http://www.tiro.com/syllabics/James_Evans/Evans_bio.html

Although English, he was the devoloper of the Cree Syllabic Alphabet and promoted education among the Ojibway speaking tribes in the nation. In controversy with the Hudsons Bay Co., who refused to bring in printing presses and type from England, (because they didn't think kindly on the idea of educating the natives) he made his own out of rudimentary materials. No small feat.
And, even more Canadian were the Cree members he inspired to use his alphabet to carry on with the task of education and literacy in the Cree Nation in Canada.

Geez! People outside of Vancouver talk about the Canucks like they are the nine divines as well?! I have nothing to say other than that.

Oh, and I saw David Suzuki on the bus a little while ago, living up to his image, thats for sure. (He lives in my city so its no biggie.) My friend thought he was Colonel Sanders

Fine! I nominate Frederick Banting and Charles Best.

If you're wondering, they were the first to successfully isolate and treat patients with insulin. Which is very good news for diabetics like myself. Sure, it was gonna probably happen soon thereafter anyway, but I'm glad it happened when it did!

I find Christopher Plummer much more extraordinary for the amount of great movies he has been in. He was amazing in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Nathan Fillion is also a canadian.

I have no idea how anyone could think Strombolopolous isn't canadian. He's on CBC and he makes references that he's Toronto every show.

Tommy Douglas did win that CBC competition for the Greatest Canadian and he definitely improved our country a lot.

Trudeau gave us our Charter of Rights and Freedoms and was one of the few of our Prime Ministers who wasn't afraid of upsetting the US. He established diplomatic relations with the Peoples Republic of China before the US and became such good friends with Fidel Castro that he was an honorary pall bearer at Trudeau's funeral. I personally think, and I'm not alone, that he was Canada's best Prime Minister.

Alot of Western Canadians will tell you different. I will not get into this lol as it breaks forum rules. But there are those who still hold grudges against this man.

I am a Western Canadian, but I also don't want to continue any sort of thread imploding discussion. I enjoy browsing this thread.
