I just started my 2nd character, which I will play as my main from now on, a sneaking death mage that blasts his enemies before they know hes there and then raises them as undead to fight with him to defeat other approaching danger !

I just cant make up my mind if I should go down the frost or lighting path, I know each has it advantages, do both have wards, what do you enjoy most ?

I'll only use conjuration to raise undead only, maybe get some mind tricks with Illusion and of course, armor enhancements with alteration !!!

I love them all praticaly equal.

fire, as the more flashy stuff, you know burning stuff burning people, fiery explosions, and ofc, its the highest damage school.
lightning has speed, I usually use that one to take out targets shooting me at range to avoid they moving at the last moment cuz the projectile speed of fire and frost spells is slower, and ofc, the spell rocks against casters keeping them dry of mana and me safe from their casts, the execute perk is sweet too.
frost is prly the one I like the least, but I like how the 50 rank spell (forgot name) can be "angled" to do higher burst (cuz it has a on contact dot)... but I usually use it to prevent enemy power attacks (drain their stamina)

all in all I use all schools, but have a tendency to perk only fire and lightning and use those mainly.

Lightning has the best perk ie Disintegrate, which kills an enemy instantly when you're shock spell leaves an enemy with less than 15% health

I've used more fire than anything else... but I love that using lightning makes me feel like a sith lord.

I didn't like frost too much until I got the spell that moves like a fast blizzard in a single direction. Lightning is a bit loud for me. I suppose I kind of like them all equally, but I still find myself having to fall back and use the low level bolts really often just for stagger.

I like lightning because no dragons can resist it. Whether you go with fire or frost, half the dragons will take only half damage. Lightning will also ruin a mage's day.

I prefer lightning, simply for the fact that most enemies I face are magical, and lightning has the added advantage of draining magicka as it hits.

I feel that there are alot of enemies resist to ice, maybe because we are in Skyrim, you might want to take that into a factor. To direct answer your question, I'd say pick lightning .

However, if destruction is your main damage output, you might want to specialize 2 elemental schools at least.

I myself took every perks under the destruction tree and is having fun with the utility it offers.

You'll need all of them but for different enemies, of course.

My preference if it doesn't matter due to enemy type is lightning.
