Shellbug helmet with the hardened falmer armor set.
Does that get the matching perk from the heavy tree?
I ask, because the heavy falmer set and shellbug helm gets the matching perk. Meanwhile, any hardened mixed with heavy
does not get the matching perk; So you need either a full set of heavy, or a full set of hardened (4 of either, but not any of both)
for the "matching set" perk armor increase.
So I know the shellbug helm gets the matching with the heavy, but I was too lazy to dig out my older hardened set to check.
The shellbug helm really goes with the look of those sets well. I like it more than the falmer heavy helm, which has the mandible
things by the mouth that stick out (while showing the chin still.)
So I rock the heavy falmer armor, with shellbug helm. I'm one hand dragonbone sword, with the falmer shield when
not using the enhanced dwarven crossbow (all smithed to maximum legendary, with double enchants (for archery, one hand, etc.)
I made the mistake of having like 4 points wasted in that first part of the heavy armor tree, while I should have only put
one there and then the further parts of the tree. Since I'm level 81, I invested that tree all the way up for fun.
So with all heavy falmer, with the falmer shield (all legendary) I was 1150 armor class. With the Shellbug helm
replacing the heavy, still qualifying as a "matching set" and "4 pieces of all heavy", I'm 1155 armor class
(well over the cap, I know, but I still find it fun.)
S
erana is now in the ancient falmer set, smithed to legendary and double enchanted for the stuff she does ( destruction, one of conjuration because I had nothing else for there, one hand somewhere and light armor somewhere else where destruction could not be enchanted. ) She also has auriels shield, smithed to legendary and a dragonbone sword. When she walks around, she often has the shield and sword equipped but then switched to her vampire life thingand whatever ice thing she does (or something.) She looks pretty cool in that stuff, while the missing headpiece is moot on her because she likes to wear whatever hood she wears whenever its sunny anyway.I don't like the dawnguard armor at all, since it doesn't qualify for the "matching set" perk in the heavy tree
(though it does qualify for the perk you get for having 4 pieces of heavy.)
The helmet also doesn't qualify for further enchants, which makes it svck more for me.
I'd be well over the cap either way, but since I have that perk I like using a set that makes use of it.
The stupid shield also can't be enchanted, of the dawnguard set. I like a matching set look,
with my falmer heavy armor shield enchanted for 44 shock resist and 44 fire (since I'm a nord,
already getting 50 frost resist and making use of the resist perk for blocking too (makes
dragons/casters on master not a problem.)
