Favorite Place on Earth

Thought this would be interesting to ask, for those looking for summer travel inspiration.

I considered putting this in The Traveler's Tavern, but figured this topic is specific enough to stand alone.

What is your favorite place on Earth and why?

What 3 specific things would you suggest a visitor do there?

I don't think I'd quite call it my favourite place on Earth since I'm not sure I have an exact favourite, but a small town on the north coast of France comes pretty close, a place called Le Touquet. There's a little market town surrounded by forests and the longest golden stretch of beach I've ever seen. Also the best ice-cream parlour I've ever been to, they have every flavour you can think of.

My favorite place on Earth is beside the woman I love -- I can't seem to find her, so if you see her let me know.

I've been to some beautiful places but I can't say a favorite place on Earth until I see it all.
That's like picking a favorite chapter from a book when you've only read the first one

My room. It's so peaceful and quiet. No place on Earth is like it. Unless someone somehow cloned my room.

I don't know, but I have an idea in my head about some rustic countryside in France somewhere with a somewhat large house with baroque architecture and perhaps a little pond nearby. Around it would be beautiful plains with nice vegetation and a serene and peaceful nature. I'd love to live there, although it might seem like an eccentric thing to do in this modern day. It's this kind of place and atmosphere you'd expect Erik Satie music to be played over.

If anyone know about a place like that, tell me.

Also, any Mediterranean place, like Sicily or maybe some island in Greece.

I'm not sure about France but if you find such a place then i'll be your roommate ;)

I've been to Sicily, I loved the laid back, old world rustic vibe in the smaller towns. If I had choice of retirement then I would love to have a little house up on a hill in Sicily overlooking the Mediterranean with some olive trees and a graqe vineyard

Haha, yes it doesn't necessarily have to be France, but it just felt like a typical place where you'd find such a place, and of course we could be roommates. :foodndrink:

That sounds great indeed.
