The only ones I did not understand was the gold skull looking guy with a nut on his shoulder and the ghost looking thing with the yellow "!". Do you know?

The exclamation mark is a joke on the big exclamation mark that shows if a mesh isn't found, I'm pretty sure.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 was an awesome game. It's a pity there aren't more games like it.

Have you played the sequel, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Window:_The_Secret_of_Cape_West? It wasn't released in North America, but the DS is region free. I haven't gotten around to importing it yet since it'd be like $40 USD.
