I recently bought the game for PC and I can't figure out how to access the favorites menus in Skyrim. The help file says I should press T while i have an item selected. When i do this nothing happens at all. F does nothing while I'm in the menu and Q does nothing while I am in the field. I also cannot set items or spells to my number keys.

None of my friends seem to be having this problem. I tried updating my keyboard drivers for a Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 but the problem persists.

Anyone have any ideas as to whats going wrong? Do I need to play to a certain point the game before I can use favorites? I just recently made it to Riverwood.

You can use favorite from the start. I haven't your problem ( i have only a lot of crash ) and so i can't help you. But i think that there are some bugs...so...maybe you need a patch / reinstall / new character ...

I suggest to try a new character...it's fast and maybe fix the problem ( only on new character ) and at least you can undestand if is a bug pg-related or something worst...

I have this problem. Compounded on it is the issue of not being able to throw away items or craft objects.

hmmm So far I'm not having any other problems. I am able to drop and craft items. Its just the favorites i cannot get access to. my quick menu keys work for things like the map inventory and magic. but F does nothing on menu. nothing happens if i hold down a number either.

Default to open the favourites menu is "Q",to add something to the favourites bar 1st click the item or spell and then press "F",you can also see the bottom left hand corner if it is on your favourites bar as it will now say "unfavourite".

hmmmm i have "F" for favorite at the bottom. But when i press it nothing happens. it never switches to unfavourite. Q does nothing. i tried switching the keybinding but it still does nothing.

I've been having this same exact problem. It's a shame, hopefully someone can find a way to fix it soon :/

If you have re-mapped your controls try using whatever key you have 'Toggle POV' set to.

Not sure what the problem is,I have kept default settings,when in game(not in menu)I press "Q" and this pauses the game and opens the favourite menu,I can then click either the left or right mouse button to assign it to either hand,Also when I go through my spells and potions I just click on the item and then press"F"and it gets added to my favourites bar.

Okay, figured it out, at least for me. DO NOT bind "Toggle POV" to the C-key! The Favorites key it the same as the "Toggle POV" key, but in the inventory the C-key is hard-bound to closer item view, overriding whatever else may be bound to the key. I assigned "Toggle POV" to V now and it works for favorites now, too.

Attention everyone!

As soon as the game started I remapped a few keys and began experiencing many errors. (Buttons simply refused to work.)

I set to default and they worked again.

Tried remapping and the same problem occured.

I'm afraid that playing with the default controls is your best bet until a fix takes place.

It appears that when you change your key bindings for the favorites menu, it unbinds the favorite an item button... Hopefully this will be fixed soon or someone can figure out in the codes how to bind the favorite an item button
