Features that are a little bland?

My biggest thing about skyrim is the blandess of the story, missions, and combat. Everything else except bugs are perfect. Just walking up to someone and spamming L1 and R1 is pretty boring. As well as going to a mission, once you go through 5 loading screens and another 5 to go kill a few people or walk through a tunnel until you get to the end and come back and go through another 10. The biggest thing that kills it for me is just loading, spamming L1 and R1 (or whatever you play with) and repeat. And exploring isn't fun to me because i often never find much value and just walking through caves isn't much fun either...

What killed it for me was the lack of depth for the majority of quests, especially the guild quests... The Companions was a complete joke of a quest line.

Yes, i have to agree that attacking enemies many times feels like breaking down a wall of HP with the same old repeated attacks. Combat, especially melee, tends to be bland because of this and many of these problems could be solved with enemy AI and their overall abilities. Locational damage is a big must IMO because without it seems like enemies are just walls of HP with no difference where they are attacked; a hit to the foot does the same exact damage as a blow to the head. Weak points on creatures would add a ton of more strategy in combat, and would help in not mindlessly flailing your weapon at the enemy while waiting for them to fall down.
