A bad parent? You missed the part about me taking off the streets of Windhelm, right? Taking her from near starvation and placing her in a level of luxury beyond her wildest ten-year-old dreams? Where she has an allowance? Where she has access to a huge kitchen that makes treats for her every day. Where milk is fresh and available. Butter is a rare commodity, for reasons that escape us, but there's no shortage on baked goods. She is protected by two house carls, a steward, a carriage driver and, uh, a cured vampire.
Maybe you humans think that you can buy love like you buy cut flowers, but Khajiit knows that love you have to give from yourself, you have to care for it like you care for a living plant.
S'vashni and Kharjo give Ma'isha their time by teaching her how to fight. Tsavani does her best to prepare nice Elsveyr meals so Ma'isha could feel like home. J'zargo and Shavari play with Ma'isha using their magic skills and teach her some magic in the process. Raksha is using all she knows about smithing to make little armor and weapons for Ma'isha, so she can train safely. And finally, we take Ma'isha on her very own little adventures, like that time when she got to dispose aggressive skeevers.
We are not rich, we don't have stewards, housecarls or carriage drivers, but what we can give seems to make Ma'isha happy and we get a lot of love from her in return. Maybe this one should try being parent Khajiit way?
