Female character can't fight in the arena?

Post » Fri May 20, 2011 4:59 pm

Weak. My Legion-friendly melee character is a woman. Otho, the guy who runs the arena, refuses to let her fight. When she playfully punches him in the nose to prove she's tough, the whole camp goes bat[censored] on her. Too bad, I wanted to see that arena content.

It's nothing to see. Just a plain field below the tent (you see it if you turn 180 degree from the tent entrance). No one is watching the fight. Might as well just kill Benny where he sits on his knees to make him suffer more as he cannot fight back. That's what I'm gonna do in my next play through.

I don't mean the Benny fight (I actually did that :)). It looks like there's a system of arena fights similar to that in Oblivion, where the guy will set you up with opponents until you're declared Ultimate Gladiator or some such. That's the questline I want to pursue. If there is one.

It's just three fights with no challenge at all (my character who hadn't put any points into melee killed the enemies with ease) - doesn't really even compare to IC's Arena.

If you head over to the NV Nexus there is a mod that allows women to fight in the arena. Not that I've tried it, because the Legion hate me so bad I can't get within miles of it. Hmmm, the NCR hate me too.. dont know what I've done to upset them... ;)

Yea, because when you start your character you totally already know the legions viewpoint towards women.

Excuse me while I find my eyes, they rolled out of my head.

Why would you stay friendly toward them after finding out...

I consider any group that sets up a lottery and kills all but two people in a town evil. And I will be aligning w/them on my second playthrough. As a woman.

If it's all about you, I have to wonder why a female character would support a regime with institutionalized misogyny and a general belief that women are weak and worthless except as walking uterii.

I mean, I can't think of any reason why a sane female individual would be Legion friendly once they found out the Legion's stance on women. Forget morality. The situation here is sort of like an African man joining the KKK.

Because shes not really in the Legion and the rules dont apply to her.

Why should she care? Its all about her. Getting what she wants buy manipulating anybody and group that comes her way.

My evil charcter will be cold and heartless and wont care about the women and slaves in the legion camps.

She'd care because, you know, they'd treat her like crap too. :P

I can't even believe Caesar would allow a mere female to work for him outside of the kitchen and with clothing.

It does seem odd huh? Its also odd if you are a man and he is asking for help from an outsider, let alone a woman.

I really want to go back to that camp, into his tent and whack him. But im guessing it would be pretty hard getting back out, and getting my weapons back.

Has anybody done it? Im siding with the NCR right now. And already got the chip back and went into the bunker below the fort.

Exactly, she might work with/manipulate the Legion as a means to an end, but really anyone with an "its all about me" attitude, especially a female, would choose the "Wildcard" option over siding with the Legion.

The only way I can see a character siding with the Legion is if the character actually believes in their ideology as the "Wildcard" and "The House always wins" options are really better for the selfish evil characters (not that you have to be an evil character to choose those options), even more so for female characters.

I would imagine it would be very difficult to kill him and get out alive without your weapons. However if you want to kill him you can always do what I did. Leave the fort and come back. When they tell you to give up your weapons refuse and then just kill anything that gets between you and Caesar.

It was during Roman Times. You wouldn't call Romans evil would they? They might be Barbaric, but that is not the same as evil.

They are not Sadists nor do they seek to inflict suffering for the sake of inflicting suffering.

The reason the leader gave for massacring Lipton are misguided, but valid. He didn't do it because he loved killing and wanted to crucify everyone for entertainment. He did it because they are traitorous and disloyal. He did it to send a message to the rest of the world that such behavior is not to be tolerated.

So he killed a town sans two people because they were traitorous and disloyal to a faction they were not a part of.

I call that evil.

It's not that hard actually. Go there while he's peaceful, do what he wants (or what Mr House/Yes Man want; don't matter he thinks you do his thing anyway) then leave to get your weapons back. Then all you gotta do is fast travel directly to the fort and start blasting.

His reasons for destroying Nipton are valid? He's just "misguided?" Oh please. The man is an evil genius with a mean streak. His intentions, in his mind, are good perhaps, but slavery? sixism? Barbaric forms of murder and torture? They are pure GD evil and must be stopped; unless you like being a slave.
