Female model for Vampire Lord?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:29 am

Watching the Dawnguard previews and seeing the Skyrim Game Jam vids only show Vampire Lords with flat chests, I assume because it was a male transformation. Any word if it's a static model or there will be obvious changes depending on your Skyrim gender.

ie) A female Nord turning into a Vampire Lord with female body archetype. So a female Skyrim character doesn't have their bust deflate.

Any clue if there will be different model types for Vampire lords depending on gender?

Confirmed?

Hi there

This is already being discussed here:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1379550-so-about-these-tranformations/

Specifically

Forgive me if this has been answered already, I didn't see anything related in my searching but I can't help but wonder if the new transformations are going to be as bland as the werewolf transformation was. I can't tell you how much it crushed my level of immersion seeing my female characters warp into some androgynous musclebound werewolf mannequins with not so much as a fleck of their former gender being apparent. I didn't expect giant briasts or something but having both males and females look exactly the same was a huge let down.

Now, seeing these amazing vampire lords, I'm worried about the same thing. I'm not going to want to become one if my females are going to have to undergo a magical mastectomy and turn into male creatures again... At least with werewolves, they can get away with them looking similar because they're so bestial. These vampires are clearly male in appearance, or at least to me they look totally male.

I don't think it's too much to ask to have a slightly different model for males and females in both forms.

EDIT: Mind you, I haven't seen every bit of E3 coverage so if I'm wrong, or there's an article on this please lead me to it if you could.
You need not worry

Nothing of that sort is confrimed, however i don't see how they could implement that without it being innapropriate, have the female vampire lord wear a top perhaps?

This is somthing i havn't thought about though, it's quite possible Bethesda overlooked it because there majority audience is male.

Short answer is we've been told not to worry.

I now feel quite relieved on Bethesda's awesome feedback. Thanks Rel_Dovahkin for the link to the discussion.
Perhaps we can see the same done with Werewolves too?

No offense, this is just my take on it..but...really? Again, just my two cents.
I couldn't think of a way this would work aside from some torn clothing or broken armor covering your chest, or nothing at all; but that may hurt the rating or something and that's not exactly a good business practice.
Not to mention the fact that you are becoming a monstrous bat creature for crying out loud, it just doesn't make sense to me.
Why should this form convey any of the female form? It didn't for werewolves, why now?

Edit: just saw the official response. I just hope they don't slap briasts and a bikini on the thing and call it a day

Yes most of the players are male. However some male players do play female characters. So bethesda should know that it wouldn't just be female players who would worry about this sort of thing. After all, even if i am male, if i ever played a female character who was a vampire, i wouldn't want her looking like a man when she became a vampire lord.

Of course not that would be horrible ugly.

They'd need a slimmer version with slightly smoother textures and small changes to hip proportions.

Bethesda knows you can't pertend a face and body like the male vampires have isn't appropriate.

Of course they will have to add a top as well.

Well, Bethesda perhaps? Unless they look the way they do because of time constraints. I'm all for a slightly different build but I feel another user said it best earlier, "I honestly see nothing wrong with it. Just because something looks masculine, doesn't mean it's a male. Masculine in HUMAN standards can't compare to masculine in supernatural standards."
Look at other forms of life in nature, female dinosaurs were actually often larger and more threatening if I'm not mistaken.
Again, just hoping they don't slap briasts on them, my dreams will never be the same. And not in a good way :nope:

Just saying, "female form" doesn't need to mean "briasts". I imagine the female vampire lord (lady!) could be smaller and lighter, as could the female wherewolf. Maybe differ in skin tone/fur.

Too true! :foodndrink:
Or even race specific. That'd be nifty. Timber wolves for Bosmer, red eyed wolves for Dunmer, wolves with larger fangs for Orcs, etc.
That may be hoping for too much though.

This is a mature game. It can handle the briasts. Of course though adding nipbles will alert the media and things would be blown out of proportion, unfortunately that's how society is.
Making different body archetypes sell the believability of the world. The only way to make a world immersive is through context and attention to detail.
You don't want too much detail though. I hate to see what's inside of those buckets spread around Skyrim. I still can't believe my Skyrim character collects buckets, even though I know what it's used for -_-"

And what is wrong with putting briasts (covered) on the female Vampire mesh? If male vampire has male VL mesh and Female Vampire has female VL mesh, why would that bother you?
Let's take it in reverse. If the only mesh for the VL would be feminine-looking would that bother you? Even if Beth declared it be so?

The werewolf thing could not be so evident because it's more Beast form (though I would like to see official gender distinctions - like smaller head, shoulders etc.), but seeing that the VL is humanoid, I don't see a problem with having briasts on females.
