1. As the Dawnguard, once I defeat Harkon and "end" the Dawnguard's Main Quest, do vampires stop attacking towns?

2. My scumbag Altmer Mage is going to to join Harkon. Will Dawnguard randomly attack me in towns? If so, I'm fine with that, provided that they don't go after NPCs. Dawnguard won't go after NPCs, will they?

3. For any character that DOES NOT start the Dawnguard questline in any way, totally ignoring it, will vampires STILL randomly attack towns? I have two other characters that will not be involved with the Dawnguard DLC at all.

1.I think so as i sped through the questline on the dwanguard without visiting any towns and now several in game hours later... 0 attacks.

Dawnguard will randomly ambush you, but not inside towns, more near the outskirts of the town's or entrances & in the wild.

I found that if i let them hit me first, NPC guards will begin to attack the Dawnguard then itll be a guard, Dawnguard battle.
Townsfolk seem to stay out of it.

Now I wonder...


If vampires attack towns on character files that HAVEN'T started the Dawnguard questline...it means so long as we have the DLC installed, it spawns vampire attacks forever. Thus breaking ALL of our characters' towns.

SO...if I were to complete Dawnguard, and then uninstall it completely, will my Dawnguard Cleric keep her Dawnguard gear? Or does the uninstall remove everything associated with the DLC completely? What effect does that have on save files???

Any help with my initial questions and this additional speculation is GREATLY appreciated. I'll give you cookies! =D

Anyone else? I'm trying other forums on other sites, but I'm getting a lot of conflicting answers. I really don't want to continue with the DLC until I have some direction.

I've been playing skyrim non-stop for the passed two days and have yet gotten a village attacked by the vampires.

Also I'm assuming that doing radiant quests for the vampires stops the dawnguard from attacking in the wilderness and vice versa because I've been doing a lot of the radiant quests for the vampires and haven't seen the dawnguard in forever.

Yeah, I'm getting conflicting information all over the place.

It's not like the main quest of the game you can't ignore the vampires when you want to. Once you hit level 10 even if you don't do a dawn guard quest vampires will still be attacking towns potentially killing quest givers and shop owners
