A few questions for those who have Hearthfire....

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:31 pm

How much is it to buy a plot of land?

Do you just waltz up to the local jarl and throw money at them?

How much do you require in terms of materials to build a basic, but not *too* small, house?

Are there other styles than Nordic?

Answers in spoiler tags please, for those unaware, you do it thusly: [ spoiler ] and at the end [ /spoiler ] without the spaces between the brackets and writing. Thanks in advance! :)

5000 gold. Purchasable after main mission of the hold is complete. All the houses have the same outside design, but it gave me option to pick my own wing after I made the main hall. North west and east. 3 choices for east. These houses are awesome. Lakeview manor in falkreath is my fav due to the wonderful view. The materials are reasonable, but get ready to hoard iron ingots.

And you'll need every bit of it. I had over 150 ingots, used them all, and i still need more.

Wow, I guess Bethesda wanted to add more reason to mine materials...

Yeah, they use a ton, especially if you resist the urge to have the steward just pay for furnishings an you furnish it all yourself so you can pick and choose what to build and not build.

I'm not gonna lie, I did cheat and do this but it doesnt allow you to do this for the cellar.

this dlc did not come with a new base game version number, so I would be very surprised if ANY main game bugs are addressed

Ah, well, thanks for the info anyway, I was hoping since they fixed the Breezehome Alchemy bug, they might have fixed some other things, but I guess it got fixed because it needed to be adjusted anyway.
