Filling In For Bethesda's Test Crew?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 7:29 am

Ok, I don't think anyone remembers being hired as Bethesda's test crew, but if you do then please remind me when this happened - _ -;; I can't picture their paycheck back log at this point

Seeing what happened with Fallout New Vegas with it's doom lag and freezing almost every ten minutes I am not so surprised that Skyrim is so buggy, but I hoped against hope that it wouldn't be. I thought maybe Bethesda would not allow for this kind of thing to happen on this scale again, but I was a fool to think so. At this point I don't think it wise to play or even buy a Bethesda game before the patches come out and seeing the attention they gave New Vegas, I am starting to doubt it is wise to buy Bethesda games at all until you know for sure that it isn't a bugs heaven. I am really beginning to wonder if they test these games at all before release or they just think "The customers make goooood test crew" or maybe they just don't care as long as they make a quick buck just throwing out a few patches to appease fans well enough to get their continued support. I mean how much effort do they really put into these patches and how much real testing do they do before releasing a game, I mean alot of these bugs are not hard to miss so either they purposely released broken software or they just didn't test it at all. It kills the enjoyment of a game if we have to walk on egg shells and having to always check online about bugs for our every move in a game.

I have run into a number of bugs which I will not list here because this is more of a statement then adding to the list since the bugs I have come across have already been mentioned and to avoid having my topic moved again being made into a post to be sandwiched between many many others in another topic, bugs do range within game breaking, quest breaking, funny and just plain annoying.

Anyway, more to the point I know some of the bugs have work arounds to avoid them, but I don't think we, as the customers, should have to worry about such things. The two cents I wish to add is not to list of bugs, but to the list of whys and hows these bugs exist then to insist that Bethesda gets in gear and fixes the issues at hand and to avoid such things in the future if they wish to keep the faith of their fans thus continuing to exist.

Well that's my two cents, More voices the harder it will be for Bethesda to ignore
It's really a shame that their games are so buggy, they would be just that more awesome if they worked right...

I blame myself for thinking that Bethesda would give ps3 users a tested game. All I can picture in my head is Todd Howard laughing all the way to the bank. All that hype for a broken mess of a game.

If you finish skyrim and credits show up, under "testers" it says "pending".

You made this post in the bug thread, you got your digs in there. The post and your sentiments were not so awesome as to need to be stated twice. Noting possible bugs is fine - actually even helpful. Ill-informed grandstanding? Not really helpful.

It is convenient for people to think that real people don't read these forums, isn't it? That way one can pretend that they are not being incredibly thoughtless and rude in a way they would never behave should they be dropped into the middle of Bethesda and actually meet people who have worked on this game or any game.
