Now I started a new character who is strictly Mage. I only use magic and wear robes which is like wearing nothin at all. Now since I'm so vulnerabld I have plan my attacks before battle and constantly cast to stay ahead of combat. Another plus is I get to avoid the horrible melée combat, exhaustively boring item menu system, and just straight bad sneak system ( seriously I'm standing right in front of u just crouchng and u cant see me? Lol that is a sorry mechanic). Now places that were a breeze before take more effort and strategy. The spells are pretty cool and real time magic combat is great. I even ran info a dragon priest couldn't dent him, i used to plow through those guys. Plus I don't get all the dumb uber leveling of enchanting, smithing, alchemy, sneaking, and speech. Just straight mmagic battles and using all the different abilities that come with if.
There is some validity in playing this game completely focused in a certain way. When u do everything the game becomes way too easy because u level way too quick and destroy everything in front of u. Then again I would never play as another melée class character as the combat is not only dumb but also boring in it's repetetiveness.
So if u find u hate this game for being archaic and unchallenging because u focused on melée or had so many thing going on u outleveled ur competition try to start over as a straight Mage that's where the thick of the combat animations are and challenge occurs. Or a gay Mage that's cool too. Also only wear robes so getting wooped is more likely.
The main negative with this playstyle is the atrocious quick menu and having to switch spells. But personally that better than the using the main menu over and over for smithing, enchanting, alchemy, stealing, speech, etc
