Invest into speech until 50 skill and take Merchant (3 perks total) to be able to sell everything to any merchant. Helps immensely, as the total gold of all merchants in one city is far greater than that of, eh, general goods ones. Successfully got rid of my hoard this way.

Blacksmiths have the most money, but usually armor and weapons are the least of my "hoard" problems.
