Finally had my first glitch.

About 27 hours into the game my 360 froze up as I was working at an enchanting table. More than likely was b/c my 360 has been on for about 8 hours straight. So word to the wise, do like I did and save before using any type of crafting table/rack/thingy!

Is it still a good idea to clear cache often a la fallout/oblivion?

Hmmm, I'm afraid to clear my cache, cause I got very lucky and didn't have any texture issues. Word from on high says that the cache building up is one way that may help you not have texture isuues, so I'm just gonna leave it as is for a bit.

Yeah some people were originally saying that clearing your cache helped, but it seriously doesn't help performance of this game in anyway. So safe bet is to just let your cache build up as much as possible. There's no real reason to clear it.

And lets hope in time that they fix the texture thing that is going on, so when you do your monthly/weekly/etc., cache wipe to keep things good, you don't have to play the game in agony for several hours because the cache needs to build up so the texture goes away. Because that would get annoying.
