I find the UI to be quite fluid

I want to equip a sword that's not in my favorites. Tab>D>D>S>Left click anywhere and it's equipped. You don't have to click on every option is my point, and once you use the keys to navigate the menus then it becomes very fluid.

That's still a lot of clicks to get that done. Especially when you remap all the keys to your liking...

You only have to click once, I don't quite understand what you mean. You just use your WASD keys and occasionally left click.

I agree. The interface on PC isn't bad. It's different and takes some getting used to, but I can honestly do things faster and with fewer clicks than I could in Oblivion.

You consider that fluid? In Oblivion, I had my 3 primary weapons hotkeyed to the 1-3 keys (and utility spells/potions to the other 5 hotkeys). So, not only was I just a single keystroke away from switching from my bow to my sword, but it was done without disrupting combat in any way whatsoever. With the favorites/menu system, I have to pause and exit combat into a menu system, make my selections, then re-enter combat. So not only does it take several more actions to complete, but it completely breaks the flow (or dare I say fluidity) of combat. If you think that is quite fluid, then we have completely different definitions of the word fluid.

You know you can still hotkey, right? Once the item is in your favorites, just put the cursor over it and press the number you want to hotkey it to.

SWEET! No, I did not know that. Hell, I still have no idea where the manual is for this game, so I won't even appologize for not knowing this, but I do much appreciate you correcting my ignorance on the subject. (I was trying to hotkey from the Inventory)

I agree. I hate the long lists, and only being able to see one items stats. The movement is much better, I hated having to move my mouse across the screen in other menus. My left hand rests in the wsad keys, so it's so easy to just navigate that way. Also selective things with E is so easy compared to moving the mouse and clicking. I also like how you don't need to hover over the item to select left or right hand, and as op said can click anywhere once you've selected an item.

My only gripe, besides what I mentioned, is skill picking, alchemy, smithing, and a few other thugs that don't let you use wsad to select yes or no, and you have to use the mouse to click them.

Yes, I liked it too. People (IMO) are just not willing to get used to it.

1. Hotkeys are broken. (they randomly de-hotkey themselves)
2. You can't scan all of your items and compare stats - you have to select each one.
3. You can't see yourself in the equipment from the inventory unless you do some jerry-rigged view change that still doesn't work.
4. You cannot sort items according to their statistics.
5. The text is super tiny on high resolutions.
6. 3 menu layers that have to be scrolled around to find things
7. No visual indication of what anything is at all unless you select it.
8. The view item window is HUGE and takes up half the screen for no apparent reason.
