Finished Dawnguard DLC (did not do everything possible)

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 7:22 am

I gotta say, this DLC for me personally, is their best, I am incredibly happy with it, I got a little enthralled with the entire story and it did not disappoint, Its definitely better than shivering isles and bloodmoon to me personally :)
So thank you Bethesda for a great DLC and I look forward to future ones that are hopefully just as awesome and gratifying :) waiting the 6 months or so for content was well worth it :D

on a side note it did take me about 12-14ish hours to beat the questline, and I did little to no side quests other than some dawnguard for the crossbow upgrades..
I think actually exploring the areas and doing side quests I coulda easily doubled that time.

Yeah, the dlc rocked. It took me around the same time to complete the main quest line. I really enjoyed it.

There a few new places that arent visited in the questline it seems, i think a little more exploration could add quite a few hours.

The story is enthralling, more interesting than anything else in Skyrim.

I also thought this was the best Elder Scrolls DLC I'd played. Mind you, I tend to like the ones that everyone else moans about, and dislike the perennial favourites. I really didn't like Shivering Isles, but I thought the storyline of this was very good, particularly the beginning of the Dawnguard quest-line and meeting certain characters for the first time. I also thought the art design was excellent, and the Dawnguard armour and weapons are the best looking equipment I've seen in a piece of Bethesda DLC. I've only played the Dawnguard side of it, and it took me about 20 hours with a reasonable amount of exploring, and without all the side-quests completed. I also spent a total of maybe half an hour just staring at some of the new locations, such as the Vale, because they looked pretty remarkable.

It hasn't beaten SI for me, but that's my opinion. It's good, but not their best.

I absolutely love certain parts of it, but some of the issues are too game-breaking for me.

Even if all those issues were fixed though, I still think Shivering Isles was better overall.

Yea can't believe he made it into this DLC. Shame what happened to him before that though.
