Finisher Move Problem : V

Ok Ive played about 15 hours of skyrim now and i have not gotten ONE finisher move yet. Am i just stupid or game is messed up for me?

Are you using melee weapons?

Yep, melee weapon including swords and daggers

Weird. I've seen a few stabs and third person moves and I'm not even a melee class. Especially when starting off.

Strange. Single handed melee goes into the finisher every 10 min or so.

I suspect the critical perk for single handed weapons also helps.

Maybe your just unlucky, sometimes i can get finishers on 2 out of 3 enemies in a battle.

Yea um 20 hours on skyrim now and still nothing, I think it might be bugged.

I respectfully disagree... 100%. The awesome finisher moves are the only thing keeping me from going pure magic.

From what I have noticed there are 2 ways to do it.
I can only speak from a 2H melee wep point of view.

1. Stun them, with a big wind up then go in close and spam click for a short attack. Doesn't work everytime as I think it's designed to be random.
I'm thinking with a shield you would stun them with a shield slam.
2. When they go for a big wind up swing, spam click little attacks. Again it's random when it does it.

I'm thinking above pointers are the key as they seem to be constant.

I get them quite a bit using a 2h. I think they trigger most often from power attacks or attacks that will overkill by some arbitrary amount. That said i've been using crafted stuff since almost the start so i've been geared well ahead of the level curve.

Question. Is your main melee weapon in your left hand?

Im starting to think left handers were gimped here. You cant even apply poison if your melee weapon is in your left hand.

You're probably just unlucky. In my 28 hours of gameplay, i've had plenty of finishers. A lot of them ended up decapitating, thanks to the One-Handed weapon perk.

Most people like them, you are in the minority. I don't get why people think they whole game should be designed around them.

K, using left hand was the problem, Is this intended or a bug? Because honestly if its intended then its just stupid. Its so annoying to use the swords right hand

Nothing personal, and I happen to like the finishers myself, but what you said was a bit hypocritical. He has the right to say what he wishes despite the majority. If everyone agreed then it would be a bland world, now wouldn't it?
