1.5 finishers, do they even exist?!?!

Post » Tue Jan 22, 2013 8:32 pm

So yeah all those many moons ago when patch 1.5 was released they said there was some new finishers put in. I play one handed sword no shield, iv seen the finishers on YouTube, but iv never done them, ever. Unarmed finishers are working so its not a patch problem, haven't tested with other weapons as I hardly use them so I wouldn't know what was new. One iv seen that I really like is the one where he parrys an attack, spins his sword a bit then trips the guy and finishes him off. Iv tried going into a low level bandit camp to make sure I get a finisher but I always got the old ones, rinsed and repeated loads of times to no avail. Has anyone had this finisher, is there some kind of trick to getting the one you want, or is it just random and a matter of luck?

Cheers guys

Btw I'm on Xbox with the 1.8 patch

I think PC users have that. They added in the finishers that were cut from the game.

I get them with my sword character so not sure what your problem could be.

I have them on my PS3. And my friend has them on his 360. Maybe you've just been really unlucky.

The kill move you're talking about is a Mod, that's why you haven't seen it.

Wow nevermind, apparently it's not.

In hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay, I have never once seen that kill move either.

I have the latest patch on 360 and I've gotten the majority of those. The ones I haven't got are the unarmed and magic ('cause I don't use 'em), and the one where the enemy is laying on the ground and a dagger (or sword, couldn't tell) is plunged through their chest.

Pretty much this. The spinning and beheading animations with the sword are the most prolific ones I get. I might get the "run through" animation every once in a while. With axes it's either "over hand smack down" or beheading. Same thing with the mace (unless I don't perk the beheading skill. seriously, how does a mace chop a head off?) then it's just the over hand smack down.

For two-handers, it's typically the same thing. For greatswords I get "run through" and "beheading", for battleaxes it's "face smash followed by beheading" or the "jump, smash" animation. Again, same thing with war hammers (and again, unless I don't perk the beheading skill. and again, another blunt object chopping off heads?).

The only thing I can think of is that you basically have to max out a weapon types perks to see them? I don't know... I usually don't bother since they're a waste anyways.

I don't know why but it just occurred to me last night that I haven't actually seen any new ones. Apparently they were already in the game just hidden in the files somewhere cos they had been cut, that mod just put them back in, but then 1.5 did it aswell. At one point it seemed that what finisher you get depends on the direction you were holding the left stick at the time, I got the move where he stabs the guy upwards through the head by pressing right on the stick and tapping RT not holding, I got that about 8/10 times consistently. So maybe that's the trick to it, I'm going to try some more tonight so ill keep you posted....

I've seen most of them apart from the one which involves the fencing type move...with knocking the bandits sword away and killing him.

I wonder if its related to the skill level, like you need a maxed out one handed skill to get them? Anyone who gets the new ones regularly what skill level you got?
