my first mistake of hearthfire

Post » Thu Feb 21, 2013 5:29 am

i tried to build it all! i litterally just went crazy and built everything i could at Lakeview Manor, i didnt plan out the wings very well and just kinda went for it, lucky for me i kept a save prior to starting hearthfire so now that i know what i can do i will be able to better gauge what i actually want to do with the house. has anyone else done this yet?

and a question for the HF oldtimers, how do you guys keep from overdoing it? my OCD is screaming at me to build every option of funiture i have available lol

I have spent countless ours in my house decorating and building furniture. I used the other houses to build other options I wanted. My favorite set-up is Lakeview Manor with an armory, greenhouse, and a trophy room.

I did the same, haha. When I get home I'm gonna just restart it and build it from scratch again. Not a big deal to me, doesn't take all that long.

Keep a save from before you start to furnish. That way when you realize that you’ve gone WAY too far with the clutter (been there!!) You can start fresh.

Also a cooling off period helps. Walk outside, then go back in and ask yourself if you really need any more barrels.

And one more thing. When you decide that you're done, remove the workbenches so you wan't be tempted to add anything else! You can always put them back if you really need to add something.
