First 5 Mods You Want To See

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 1:48 am

- Portable Campsites (including cooking pots).

- More Advanced Cooking.

- Necessities of Skyrim (hunger/thirst/sleep mod).

+1
1) I'd like to be able to buy a tent/supplies and start a fire to keep the animals away.
2) More NPC's and side quests.
3) A better map from in game.
4) When I rent a bed I want there to be no items in the room (in case I accidentally pick something up and get arrested for stealing), and a chest I can use.
5) The ability to rent a room for a week if need be.

That's five off the top of my head.

(also torches last longer and usuable lanterns)

i hate user made mods that change gameplay or add quests, cause 9/10 times they svck or are very buggy. i just stick to graphics improvement mods in TES games. the modding community is just very poor ever since oblivion.

1. DarNified UI

Everything else is of minor importance, but:

2. Spell overhaul (more powerful spells, and more effects)
3. Spell Creation
4. Nature mod, à la Natural Environments.
5. Better bodies/faces/hair/eyes mod.

My list of wanted mods are greater than 5.

So here's mods I don't like that go against lore.

1. New race mods
2. Anime mods
3. "Fun" mods
4. Race removal mods
5. Over the top six mods.

Best part about mods is that they don't install themselves on your computer. So it doesn't matter what mods other people are running. :shrug:

(Although I do wonder what you mean by "fun", because being against fun seems a bit odd. :tongue:)

1. Rework crafting professions to limit exploits. Perhaps implement hidden caps to reduce synergies, or limit maximum crafting skill levels to character level.

2. Competition mode. Campaign plug-ins that are released with certain objectives to be completed in as few game hours as possible, with online score reporting.

3. Alternate starting locations

4. New quests.

5. Enforced Dead is Dead mode.

6. BASICALLY, I think gameplay should be limited so that choices you make have greater impact on later game. Choose smithing? No enchanting for you! etc.

what are the first 5 mods you want to see for skyrim when the GECK is released.

in no particular order:

1 first person all the time (no third person kill cam, werewolves or horses)

2 better fort battles......maybe i was spoiled with my 250 npcs mount and blade battles on my 4 year old PC but the 16 or so npc battles in skyrim were just pathetic. soldiers would magically just appear right in front of you for no reason.

3 scaling destruction spells (this isnt necessarily about the issue with spells scaling so much as it is that i prefer using flame and sparks because chain lightning and fireball hit my followers all the time, id like to see a higher damage flames spell with a higher mana cost)

4 adjusted crafting rates......im all for slow leveling but alchemy is really really hard to level meanwhile smithing and enchanting are really easy to level. using just normal rates of finding stuff while adventuring and crafting it when i get to a town to sell, im always close to or over 90 by the time im level 30.

5 more summons. what happened to my daedroth, clannfears etc?

Those are all good. I'd like to see:

1. Vastly improved AI (so that the NPCs don't have to resort to "Spider-Sense" dodging projectiles completely unnaturally, nor get totally abused from stealth tactics).
2. Improved enemy variety and spawn rate (i.e. MMM, but he isn't making one for Skyrim, so it will be a while before whoever took over releases theirs).
3. An Enchanter NPC that can Enchant items for you. The way I would want it is that he would essentially work like an Enchantment altar where the only enchantments he can do will be from the items you've given him to disenchant. He will also be able to double enchant items (which you can't get from farming vendors), but he won't be able to do the absurd kind that the player using Alchemy + Enchanting can do. The prices will also be drammatically higher (way more than double) than what it would cost for a similarly single enchanted piece of gear.

The reason I would want something like this is because it makes no sense for a non magic user to actually have to learn magic for Enchanting. People found magicians to enchant items for them in literally every other fantasy setting, and never were you forced to do it yourself.

Here are the top 5 I want to see:

1. An overhaul that removes level and item scaling completely, perhaps adding new items and quests as well.

2. Real time travel; in other words, when I ride in a carriage to a major city I will actually see the scenery go by.

3. Open Cities.

4. Scaling destruction spells.

5. Improved vampirism. In other words, able to feed during combat and just other improvements in general, such as adding vampire clans.

1. Alternate Start / "I'm Not Dragonborn!" - I list these together because they're pretty much directly related. I want an "Alternate Start," something that just throws me into the character creation and then throws me into the world, no execution, no Alduin, no Stormcloaks, no Empire, just start into the game without having to go through all of that hassle. I also want a mod that makes it so I have the option to not be Dragonborn, i.e., if I kill a dragon or one dies near me, I do not absorb its soul. Likewise, an option to turn off active Word Walls would be nice, because only very few of my characters are going to know the Way of the Voice.

2. Body/Hair Mods - I say "body" because I don't necessarily mean "nvde." I don't mind if the body is nvde or not, but I want a better looking body overall. Skyrim's body looks nice already, but certain areas could be improved, plus, it's obvious that no attention was given to the feet, as they're just masses of flesh with minimal effort to resemble a foot. Then, of course, I feel like hair is probably the most defining trait of a character's appearance in video games, so I always like to have as many hair options as possible. (And, to be controversial, I'd just like to say that I really really hope we don't get a copy of Ren's Hairs in Skyrim. They look terrible and out-of-place and I would not download certain quest/companion/etc mods solely based on seeing one of Ren's Hairs in them.)

3. "Actors in Charge" - Anyone remember this mod from Oblivion? It allowed the player to do any animation that NPCs did, such as eating, drinking, giving a speech, etc etc etc. It had a permanent spot in my mod load order, and it's a very valuable roleplaying tool. It's a must-have for Skyrim.

4. Clothing/Armor Mods - I like looking unique. Any clothing or armor that suits my fancy while still being lore-friendly and appropriate for my character. I'm really picky when it comes to these things though, but it's something I enjoy the most when personalizing my characters.

5. General Immersion Mods - Kind of hard to list exactly what I mean here, but just things that enhance the vanilla game in lore-friendly ways to be more immersive and more geared toward hardcoe roleplaying. This DOES NOT mean mods that force me to eat and sleep, but rather, mods like See You Sleep which allow me to see my character lay down in bed/get up from bed when s/he sleeps, as well as mods like Portable Campsite.

And that's my 5. Honestly, I had to really think to come up with 5. I think Skyrim is a fantastic game and really doesn't need much in the way of modding, and I know when I do start using mods, it'll be just minor enhancements to the vanilla game.

In no particular order:

1. Crowded Roads. For those who didn't apply that in Oblivion, (Why the hell wouldn't you?) it makes the roads more lifelike with travelers on them.

2. Better companion, marriage system as well as more spouses for other races. (Need Moar Beast Races!)

3. Better Cooking and Food stuff with camps to set up!

4. Better textures (God I could never figure out how the hell to use Wyre Bash and OBSE, hopefully its easy to apply)

5. More Homes.

And of course, you can't live without:

6. A mod that fixes bugs!

Although I wouldn't mind applying something that makes

7. Unarmed combat improved. (Its own skill and skill tree and stuff)

This would probably be my top 5:

1. Better UI
2. Normal 2D map
3. Health doesn't regenerate
4. More quests in each faction
5. More/better spells

Not-so-important mods:

6. More interaction with your husband/wife
7. Intelligent horses (they don't attack everything they see).
8. Bring back birth-signs
9. Show health/mana/stamina, diseases and weapons/magic equipped on screen
10. Remove the radar under the compass (the red dots of enemies)
11. Make children polite, not arrogant brats
12. More weapons/armors

Yes!

definately a hardcoe mode as seen in new vegas! how much would that add to the immersion and feel of the game? having to eat that useless food found everywhere in order to survive (it could act in a way that stops stamina from draining so fast as well as restoring health, etc), and cooking to make advanced meals, whell i know that if that came into effect i would A) cook and collect food more and B) try harder to not use fast travel and simply experience things.

Usable lanterns!

Kitty and Argy spouses.

NPC's sleeping regularly.

That is a huge annoyance for me! NPC's not sleeping at normal times, you go to break in at 2am and they are cooking *sigh*

And don't try to use the argument about how different people keep different times, we are talking about virtually every NPC on some bizarre schedule

"More" weather would be nice. Thunderstorms, torrential downpours, scattered showers, more lightning, rainbows after showers, flurries and blizzards.

1. Midas Spells or something of similar caliber

2. Epic Quest Line...I.E, something similar to Heart of the Dead in Skyrim. Of course it has to be voiced. Heart of the Dead was my all time FAVORITE quest mod. It had horror, romance, adventure, and mystery all rolled into one! I know something like that will come to Skyrim but hopefully it will come next year so I can develop a deeper relationship with characters and experience breathtaking areas.

3. Better UI. It doesn't bother me as much as it does other people but it still bothers me and us PC players deserve our own UI.

4. Balance/Overhaul mod. Makes Destruction not as weak and balances the game as a whole.

5. More interactions with spouse such as being able to take them as followers, having them ride horses along with you, etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cool mods that aren't absolutely necessary
1. My Little Pony mounts. Just me being a pony fan.
2. Unicorn Mounts and Pegasus mounts. Me being a pony fan and it adds some stuff to gameplay. Unicorns could do extra damage and NOT DIE AS FAST in combat + their horns could fetch a good price. Pegasus mounts could just fly for a short time or just glide.
3. Dragon mounts
4. More mounts.
Companions that do not svck.
The default ones are worse than what we had in Fallout New Vegas as shipped.
Comparing them with the mod version companions we had in FNV is just a exercise in
self flagellation and will lead to eyes bleeding , at the least.
I'd settle for that. I have a long wait as the TK won't arrive until January at the EARLIEST.
As for the other top 4, believe it or not 3 or so have been done already on Nexus.
I'll keep that part of the list secret.
