First REAL moment you felt fear in skyrim

Post » Tue Jul 24, 2012 1:05 pm

A battle with a dragon or two is always something that gets my adrenaline pumping; but as far as actually feeling scared in skyrim, its rare and almost never. more of the "Oh ****, i havent saved in a long time." feeling.
But the first time i actually felt afraid in skyrim and ran away like a scared schoolgirl was when i cast frenzy on a rabbit for the first time. first thought that occured to me was "what if they decided to do a little Monty Python stuff with this sort of situation." And then as it halted at my feet all i could do was laugh my butt off.
What was your first experience with feeling fear in skyrim?

Bleak Falls Borrow. Giant Spider drops from the ceiling. Nearly pooped my pants. It was also my first death in Skyrim.

I've never gotten scared in Skyrim. Not even Slender was able to actually scare me.

Meridia dropping me back down to the surface triggered my fear of falling from high places.

:lmao: haha! I never thought of casting frenzy on a rabbit..

Hmm, I think my first real moment of terror was in Bleak Falls Barrow, when the thief who was caught in the web was calling for help. I ran up to save him...and when I saw what was was coming for me, I ran out of there so fast I almost broke the left thumbstick on my controller...

Edit: ninja'd! :ninja:

Though everything from going through BFB and my first fight with a dragon raised my adrenaline up some I never really felt that overwhelmed fearing for my life feeling. But when I went venturing on my own and a I could hear dragon screeches and see a red dot but no dragon that started freaking me out and then all of a sudden the dragon pounced down on me and as the battle (or more like me running for my life while using healing spells) started getting tough 2 spriggans appeared as if to help the dragon take me out. It was hell and I was caught straight in the middle of it. I thought every battle was going to be like this from now on but I have been lucky enough to avoid such disasters.

lol, it was my wife's idea. she's obsessed with seeing my kill those rabbits and sometimes in strange ways. think she hates them or something.
before skyrim came out i thought spiders would be my kryptonite, but killing them is just fine. when i have to loot them for my assassin RP though.... ugh.

I first got real frightened coming out of Helgen and being left on my own, lol. It immediately seemed a HUGE world and I had no idea where I fit in or where I was going, or even where I was.

First time I got scared, as in spooked, was when I had installed some graphic enhancers and an ENB mod. The dungeons improved by like 1000% in scariness, I had no torches and no was creeping through this dungeon at at very slow crawl, and suddenly I heard some screams and chains rattling and next thing I knew a Draugr was upon me. That was pretty awesome.

I was on my way to Mount Kilkreath to return Meridia's beacon. I knew its general location, but I had quest markers turned off and I had trouble finding it. After a few minutes of roaming around aimlessly in silence, I see a structure in the distance. As I approached it....

LOOK UPON MY SHRINE!

I didn't hear the rest because I was wearing headphones and Meridia's voice nearly SCREAMING at me made me fall out of my chair.

God, [censored] Meridia and her screeching, self-entitled voice.

When I was walking to Windhelm, I saw something on the edge of the road that I had never seen before. I was only like level 9 or something, so I thought it was another wolf. Then the thing stands up and I realize it was a freakin' Saber Cat. I about crapped myself. I thought the thing was going to own my face, but I drew my sword anyway and prepared to give it a try. I killed it in about 2 hits. After that I thought Saber Cats were nothing to worry about, but the next few I fought demolished me pretty easily, so everytime I see a Saber Cat, it always gets me anxious.

Yeah, you can buy a controller for PC. I don't own one myself, but I think they're pretty affordable.

Hm, for me I would have to say the first time I attacked the bandit in Bleak Falls Barrow that's supposed to be killed by the arrow trap. I didn't expect him to be that strong. That mace of his hurt. :dead:

whoohoo. anyways. Over the past eight months of playing skyrim and only being attacked by sabercats when im a low level i began to be afraid of them too. its hardwired in my brain now: sabercat? oh f***! so one day while picking on some giants with my pure archer i zoom in on the giant, time slows down, and all i can think about is the saber cat that is only visible because i zoomed on the very edge of my screen, and with a giant charging me, i still think: oh f***! sabercat!
