Every time I launch RAGE it does the first-time setup, checking versions for things like VC redist. Any idea how to fix that?

I have the same problem, even tried the VC redist fixes, now the steam window:

"Rage is launching...." is just popping up again every second.

i found a fix for this:

1. Exit steam
2. Start steam
3. Verify rage game integrity
4. Start game
