Fishy Sticks!

Post » Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:23 am

So I was watching the Comedy Sketch with Todd Howard for GTTV.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but he said Salmon! I do hope that means we can fish, not just jump ion the water and slice it with a dagger :sadvaultboy: Maybe Skyrim Isn't landlocked this time round :D

What do you guys think?

Like ive said before multiple times, I really hope we can fish, but only with a rod, just like I hope we can cut down trees (which we can right >_>) but only with an axe or something...

How did the fishy stick start, and too keep on topic;

What are those sea seals called? The ones that were in Daggerfall, or Morrowind? That make a return in Skyrim?

the horkers..i think...and hopefully they make a return cause some horker boots would be nice lol

The fishy stick phenomenon began when Captain Eldrad joined the Official Forums on January 18, 2001. The graphic used is from an advertisment for Captain Morgan's rum, with a fish stick in place of the bottle of rum. In the beginning, fishy sticks were only given to those who truly deserved the honor, by Captain Eldrad himself. Later, his friend Soursha gave them away to new members. Eventually, it became customary to give fishy sticks to the newcomers of the forum. The Bethesda developers were very amused by all of this, and they added tributes to the fishy stick in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

Fishy sticks use to be given out only by merit in the Morrowind Forums, you know making a post with good points nothing to do with attacking another group and generally something most could agree on, but of course this was before the divides becamse excessively extreme....tbh its nowhere as near as bad as early morrowind lol, but its no less annoying, trivial and stupid..

then another poster started giving them to new comers

and thus that is what we do.

I'm pretty sure there is going to be a rare fish...the fishy stick

I didn't get a fishystick :cryvaultboy:

I want to build a lakeshide shack using wood I chopped down.

then fish for my dinner every night before building my own sword by the raw materials I mined from the mountains.

I literally want to be off the grid in skyrim, and self sustain myself in every way.

I doubt we'll cut down trees actually. It'll probably just be logs that are already piled up around the lumber mills and we just cut those into smaller pieces, move them into the mill etc.

In the trailer, when that Guy/Gal is sneaking up to that Deer/ Elk, one of the trees has been sliced in half, doesn't look natural. :shakehead:

But roughly half way has passed since the announcement, and it went awfully fast. So hopefully the second half will fly by!

You made me watch the trailer again, not that I'm complaining. :) Hard to tell, looks kind of rough, likes it just snapped over. But you could be right.

It's just an Assumption mind you, but I would be extremely disappointed if they said woodcutting, only to be able to chop pre-cut logs. :cryvaultboy:

The way I assumed it was done is like that guy you see briefly in the trailer when you see the city on the arch. He's just cutting the pieces of wood on the tree stump. Like fire wood pieces etc.

"The streams have salmon leaping up over cataracts"

Of course you can fish with your sword, but the real question is can you fish with a pole?
