I just finished grinding my smithing level up to 80. I spent a bunch of money on ingots, and made myself an all legendary set of ebony armor. It looks really cool, but when I looked at the stats, the armor rating is LESS than my orcish armor.... Apparently the "matching set" peek does not work for ebony armor, so I basically just wasted hours upon hours of gameplay. After doing some research, I found out that this has a been a well known bug since launch, so why hasn't it been patched? It's a serious problem with the heavy armor and smithing skills. Please fix this Bethesda!

I wouldn't get bent out of shape over it. If you have all five perks in Juggernaut and the Well Fitted perk, and have enchanted smithing gear with a decent enchantment level, you'll be getting close to the 565 AR cap anyway.

Because Bethesda never patch their games.....sure they tend to get most of the absolutely gamebreaking bugs (Then again, Vampire Cure quest on PS3 was never patched)....but most of the minor stuff goes by the wayside.

Its been this way since Morrowind, doubt they'll start caring anytime soon....I think it's got something to do with having already gotten your money


Hence why there is always a huge bugfix complication mod for Bethesda games, to fix all these obvious glaring issues.

Don't get your hopes up. Bethesda is notorious for not fixing bugs in their games.

I've done it myself. I thought my Steel Plate Armour was Godly compared to my Ebony. Then I noticed the enchantment on it and slapped it on my Ebony. I am now God. On you knees, peasants.
