Fixing the Doom BFG IWADS!

I'm posting this for informational reasons: To let any curious bystanders who may desire to explore the many creations of the doom community be able to without issues.

As has been noted in a few topics, now, there's a fair amount of people who are perturbed over what's been done to the Doom 2 IWAD, with its censoring and butchery of the secret levels, level incompatibilities with multiplayer, and so on and so forth.

Fear not! A blessing from the community has arisen! A patch for bringing the BFG IWADS back into their old 1.9 selves, and it can be found here.
Though I'm pretty sure you're screwed if you have the console editions.

I've created two patches for the Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 1.9 IWADs for you to use if you'd like to check out the most up to date versions of the WADs included in the BFG edition. NERVE.WAD is NOT included, this only applies to the originals.

As this is just a patch and not a complete IWAD, it requires the BFG IWADs or the old 1.9 IWADs to function, as it can patch them either way. The 1.9 IWADS will work with the BFG Edition's exe too, last I recall.

Does the latter fix Map02 or the Titlepic? Doesn't say anything about that

I believe the first one would do that, since it can work both ways.

The third link, IWADPatcher, can change any doom 2 version to any other doom 2 version.

I'm glad to see the community made a patch that decensors the PC nonsense, and one from 1.9 to BFG just to show how bad it is.

I'm the author of those patches. I feel that I should note that the last set of patches is intended for the BFG edition engine, and the TITLEPIC lump is still missing from Doom2.wad. All this does is replace MAP31 and 32, and the altered texture patch and sprite lumps, the rest of the data structure is still the BFG version's. If you want to get the actual 1.9 IWADs out of it, you should use the first set of patches.
