Flickering distant mountains.

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 8:55 am

I am using GTX 580's with the latest drivers and the game looks AMAZING, except for some flickering on distant mountains W of Whiterun.

Anyone experiencing this issue?

TY in advance!

I've seen this once (single GTX 580). But only once so far.

I am using 550 GTX and tried to see if it would go away with any of the graphics settings but it doesn't. I just want this to be resolved so I can play without killing my head...

Bumping to bring awareness to this, really annoying.

Happens with AMD cards too.

I also have flickering distant LoD on the mountains west of Whiterun with a GTS 450. I had the same issue in Fallout New Vegas as well although much worse. From everything I've been able to learn is that problem is called "Z-fighting" and there is little to nothing we can do to fix it on our end.

Also, here is a video from another thread that shows my problems almost exactly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaVEOkjhEeI

I had this until i updated to the latest beta drivers for my GTX470. (which was a nightmare since the installer was "failing". ended up using windows 7 safe mode and pointing device manager at the c:/nvidia/... folder to find the drivers)

Happy to report it runs beautifully now without flickering

You're using the beta 285.79 drivers?
