Flickering shadows?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 12:29 am

I have noticed recently that when standing outside talking to an NPC, the shadows on objects flickers and moves. Is this intended? (i.e. the shadows are moving due to the passage of time?) Because it can be very disruptive and appear like a strobe effect and it happens very frequently.

Also the shadows on the xbox are very blocky and pixelated - is this intended?

I think the Xbox has run out of untapped power - the world is much bigger than Oblivion, but it looks rougher...

A fair tradeoff, IMO.

It's just the way it is. Consoles don't have the power to provide detailed shadows. So you get the blocky shadows. And with the movement of light sources, the shifting shadows just end up "flickering".

I get pixelated shadows that look stupid when they move as well. I really hope this gets fixed; at least make the pixels smaller. I'm a graphic designer and if I gave my clients this poor quality imagery, I'd be fired.

Otherwise, i love the game.

I doubt there's anything that can be done with the shadows. Lots of games suffer from it.
