Hey,

Before I knew it, I reached level 21 (annoyingly because I've been raising skills like Alteration, Alchemy etc, so now enemies are comparatively stronger *cry*). However, my follower Uthgerd (the one you brawl with in the Whiterun inn) now 'dies' (when they kneel down) insanely quickly. Just now, she lost all of her health from one swipe from a snow bear. I've given her some good steel armour and she's still weak as hell. It's actually quite cumbersome having such a weak follower because I have to make sure I don't accidentally fireball her while she's down and kill her permanently (I've unfortunately already done this to J'skar (I think that's what he's called, the Khajiit in the Mage's academy).

My question is - are ALL followers in the game capped in level or something? Is she meant to stay this weak? Will I ever be able to find a follower that won't die from being simply looked at by a mudcrab?

Advice on where to find a suitable Uthgerd replacement will be greatly appreciated

Pretty sure they all scale to your level.

I got my Housecarl Chick from Whiterun following me and she's "tanking" dragons for me while I shoot them from a distance with Spells/Shouts/Arrows.

I'll try using her - perhaps it's a bug or intentional that Uthgerd isn't meant to scale to your level?

She died early for me too. One good thing is that I took her house key so now I have a fine house to store stuff in

Also use the housecarl for tanking - she is excellent. You can also have the Companions help you once you done all their quests.
