Followers and underwear (PS3)

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:37 pm

My apologies if this has been discussed. I looked at posts for about the past hour and can't find what I'm looking for, so maybe someone has some hints (or can post a link to the relevant thread).

Lydia is sitting in my Whiterun house in her underwear. I had her as a follower, gave her a ton of armor of different types, and when I took it all away she was left in her underwear. I did the same with Jenassa. It wasn't a goal at the time, it just happened.

Well, I'd like to be able to get my wife to wear the clothes that I pick out (because I'm a controlling SOB) so when I met Jordis and she was following me, I tried the same little trick. Didn't work. She insists on picking out her own clothes. She's polite as hell (much more so than Lydia) but I can't get her down to her knickers.

Anyone on the PS3 had any luck getting Jordis to wear something other than the armor she comes with?

Thanks in advance guys.

- Dave

P.S. This is what happens when guys don't play with Barbie dolls as a kid...they grow up and find themselves dressing up women in video games.

Same problem I had on Xbox with Mjoll. I give her full daedric and took away the banded armor so when I took her along she'd be able to carry more. But every time I step back inside my house...she's just sitting there in her undergarments like "Hey babe, sup?'. Now granted as a bachelor I find this routine for me, and highly sixy on the opposite gender....but come on, don't need the neighbors getting a free show with their morning biscuits.

I don't use followers anymore but yeah...only fix was to take away one piece of her armor, then she wore the full suit automatically, then I gave it back.

Yeah, Mjoll is another that won't get into her panties for me, but I get so tired of her stories that I wouldn't want to be married to her. If she tells me one more time about her adventuring days I'm going to put another (yes another) arrow into her.

Good thing you can't accidentally kill her eh?

Now...if I were a pervert, I'd have bought the PC version so I could install the "Naked" mod.
Still, it'd be nice to get Jordis in this pretty Forsworn Armor I bought her, or even the Tavern clothes.
It's almost Valentine's Day and I'd like to take her someplace nice.

As far as I know you have to leave them with one piece of original clothing to get em to dress up in what you give them.

Mjoll is a lioness and a warrior woman, you have to earn the right to get her panties ;)

I've never been able to get a non follower to wear something different. I married Miuru, used Perfect Touch to pickpocket her clothes. She lived forever in her underwear after that, nothing I could do to get her to wear anything. All I could do was kill her lol

Well done.

Did you use her body as a thrall afterwards?

Might as well take the body home, it can still be used as a home decoration.

sadly the body doesn't stay like previous games...it will vanish after a day out adventuring just like the table in breezehome resets itself if you clear it

Not necessarily true. Miuri's body has stayed where I put her in Honeyside for a long long time. Yet corpses I've tried to store on my necro disappear ASAP

Wonder if it treats a spouse body differently.
Interesting...forever married to a corpse.

K, here's an update. My wife (no, my REAL life wife, Lisa) was playing Skyrim and wanted to marry some dude, so I had her test something and it worked. She got her spouse/follower to wear Tavern Clothes. Here's how she did it.

Step 1. Marry them. In her case she married Vorstag, who comes with a default set of Scaled Horn Armor.
Step 2. Go home and ask them to "follow" you. Equip them with whatever armor they will wear (I think she had some Ebony armor that he was willing to try on).
Step 3. Ask them what they have for sale. Since they're wearing the new armor, their default will show up in their goods for sale.
Step 4. Buy their default armor (make sure you don't buy their entire default set, bracers, helmet, boots, armor, or else it won't work. Lisa just left him with his boots.)
Step 5. Now ask them to trade some things with you. Take away the armor you gave them (Ebony in this case) and give them Tavern Clothes.

She tested it by then telling Vorstag to stop following her, she left the house, and then she came back in. There sat Vorstag in his Tavern Clothes and default boots.

Supposedly, according to what I read on other websites, if you leave them with at least one piece of their default set of equipment, it won't respawn automatically. But if you take it all, often it will respawn when you enter new areas with them, or they'll just take it off and you'll come home with them in their underwear.

Anyone else wanna give it a shot and see if it works for you?

I haven't gotten this to work on non follower spouses. I have only ever gotten them to life forever in their underwear. Never to actually put something on

I wish they just allowed you to take all the followers base armor and weapons, would be so much easier. You could give them what you want and they would equip the [censored] bow you gave them to use.

Yeah, I don't think you can do it with non-followers because you can't get to the "Trade with me" dialog.

And I have an unfortunate UPDATE on my instructions about how to get follower-spouses to wear other clothes. My wife initially tested it by stepping outside and then back into the house and Vorstag was still wearing his Tavern Clothes, but when she went adventuring and came back some time later he was back in his underwear. Which is not a problem if you were only trying to do something like getting Jordis to wear nothing but underwear (and her default boots) around the house. But if you want your spouse to stay in something like Tavern Clothes (no armor value) all the time, I'm not sure how to get it to work. I'll keep trying though.

First step's done...I now know how to get Jordis in her underwear (I think...I'll have to try it on her after I can get the controller back from my wife).
Now I just need to figure out how to KEEP a follower-spouse in the pretty little Tavern Clothes I killed a woman to get.

I swear, women just don't appreciate the things you do in order to get them nice things.
