So in the spirit of trying something new in Skyrim, I actually tried using a follower, rather than going solo as I usually do. Except, even when traveling with someone, I tend to be going alone, because the follower just will not keep up with me. Even when not running and sticking on the paths I have to wait about 40 seconds for every minute of playing to let the person catch up to me, and walking from one hold to another turns into an incredibly arduous case of stop and go.
Is there a reason that they can't keep up? I've been looking forward to hearing some of the dialogue followers are supposed to say as we travel throughout the lands, but if I have to crawl for 20 minutes to get from Whiterun to Honningbrew Meadery just so my follower doesn't get lost I'm not sure it's worth the bother.
