Ok for PC, but hardly great. Buyers beware

Fun to play, but as an pc player that enjoys RPG's this game was a bit of a let down. The same old thing: "streamlining", "trimming the fat" same old bs ,dumbing down is the real term. RPG it is not, more like shooter with RPG elements. Things that I miss are 1) more stats, not the endurance etc. , but how my standing and rep is with the world and fractions. 2) A bestiarium and better info screen about the things encountered. 3)better menus 4) a graphic rep of my character with movable icons in inventory, instead of just scrolling down text menus. 5) equipmned that gets worn down with useage.
It is a good game in many ways, and fun to play. But for pc it could have been a lot better. I thought that it was going to be like fallout in a fantasy world, but this game feel like 2 steps back from that, and that game is 3 years old! This game feels more like World of Warcraft 2005.

Equipment does not degrade after usage? So there is no armorer repairing?

Bunch of frigging whiners. I have it on PC and absolutely love it. It looks gorgeous on Ultra, and the menus/controls aren't enough of a nuisance to ruin the experience.

If I could play it for more than 5 minutes without it just closing on me then maybe.

IF you play it on the setting it is meant to be played, the difficuluty is great. At that point it is not just shoot and move. You need to get armor to increase stats, build your stats and abilties wisely (puttign poitns on main focus and not to many) and create a chracter based on play desire.

THat means from the poitn you get to the college, you will need better gear to win better gear for certain fights (not main story dragons either) You will have to enchant items with potent abilties, mediocre will not cut it).

You simply haven't played enough nor on the setting that reveals much harder mobs rather then the basic ones you are experiencing.

I agree. The TES series hasn't moved on in many ways. While graphics improved somewhat (still looks quite lifeless at times), alot of things stayed where they were friggin 5 years ago:

- Wooden character animations (Trademark of Bethesda)
- horrible menu system, even worse than Oblivion (i didn't think they could beat it)
- mouse movement still feels very stiff and somewhat choppy
- vsync STILL can't be disabled in the menu, same with mouse acceleration (seriously?)

It kinda feels like Bethesda didn't learn anything in the past. I just hope they improved the gameplay - i'm not that far yet. But it's disappointing to see the exact same annoyances again that i already encountered in Oblivion.

have to agree , aside from the PC controls this game is awesome . The bits they have streamlined are a vast improvement.

Hi, im 10h into the game and as allways im playing at max diff level. It can be hard at times, but thats not what im saying, it just lacks the depth of a pc game.

I doubt it was made for the PC. Probably made for consoles, then ported to the PC. That's why it's so dumbed down.

Have you ever played The Witcher 2 ?
If not then don't do it,it will increase your standards and will make other rpgs to look crappy.

I absolutely agree with OP, Oblivion and Skyrim combined cannot even begin to compare to Morowind. Skyrim may be a god game and it may have a good story but its a console game and most PC users will hate it for it. Bethesda, please, when u make a game like this for PC at least make an effort to make a point and click menu for PC users not some console clone crap.

Some complaints are merited but when they deliberately ignore how Skyrim has improved over Oblivion I realize I have no common ground with them. At all.

Truth be told, most of the time they are comparing vanilla Skyrim to modded-Oblvion, not vanilla Oblivion.

One Sentence:

For PC - the best RPG EVER CREATED!!!!

(More detail):

- No Lag
- Runs SMOOTHER than oblivion on my pc
- See far far far into the distance
- details everywhere
- This is what obivion should have been!!!

- The ONE con: controls remapping seems buggy at the moment

Hey i am giving my opinion of the game. I dont understand why i have to be attacked for that? Im not hating the game, only giving constuctive crit. Ive been playing RPG's for 25 years so i think i have a good idea of what im talking about.

The goofy key-mapping and interface do sound irritating, but I'm sure I can get over it. The rest of what you said is insignificant rambling about mechanical changes we've all known about for a VERY long time now.

Yet you don't mention any RPG elements to backup your argument. The OP is talking about RPG elements, not about "gorgeous graphics". One has nothing to do with the other. Maybe you should learn to read the OP and understand the points being made before replying.

Just because you have low standards doesn't much us whiners. It means we were expecting an RPG and got an action game with 6 year old graphics and console controls.
