Anyone alse find pure mage booring?


I mean Conjuration is useless to you if u already do Destruction.

My destruction is 71, I specialize in Lightning and basically EVERY enemy = Some Lightning in the face, and i win

Restoration for if u get a bit of damage

Alteration, mage armor sounds nice but i dont need it because everything dies with a few Lightning shots in the face.

Illusion why hide, do fear, manipulate or turn invisible if i can just streight up Lightning in the face kill anything in my way.

I am a high elf, so if i go vs sum strong boss, i use my racial abilty which = infinte mana and lightning in the face till the boss is dead.

Groups just fall easelly to Chain Lighting.


I even went to a town and started killing everything in sight..... took me to make the town into a ghost town i less then 2 minutes with chain lighting.

Sounds like you need to turn the difficulty up. That will force you to vary your playstyle more than.. "lightning to the face" and it will be more interesting.

Yeah, I'm encountering the same thing with my pure mage and I'm playing on Expert.

Dragon priests are the only thing that scares me

Hmm why are so many mages crying that they are underpowered.. Well my bad for assuming you were on adept or something.

Just summon something to tank and lightning in the face!

mages are OP

I suspect it has more to do with the High Elf racial then anything else.

I'm a pure mage, but I don't actually have Destruction. I use Conjuration for Dual-Wielding Bound Swords and go swing-swing. I dunno if that actually *counts* as pure mage any more though, but I'm wearing only normal clothing, using alteration for armour and restoration for shields. The only problem I have is getting the dang dragons out of the skies and making them land.

It's fun anyway.

Mages are crying because unless you level up properly ( Choosing the correct skills to work on first ), you'll hit a segment of time where enemies are rather difficult, but once you get passed this segment of time, you'll do " lightning to the face " on master quite easily...

I specialize in Conjuration and Destruction; the combo isn't useless at all. I let my Frost Atronach absorb the damage and deal some mean fire damage in the meantime. And out in the open, I throw fireballs at bunnies.

conjuration isnt useless it simply isnt NEEDED

destruction alone can destroy your foes with ease
