This is the most annoying bug ever discovered in-game.

I'm trying to get on with my main quest, For the Republic Part 2. I've come to the part where I either have to extinguish the Brotherhood of Steel, or talk to Elder McNamara about getting a peaceful solution. But that's not possible. Everytime I try to talk to McNamara, he just says: "I'm sorry outsider, I'm going to be busy for a while lifting the lockdown". This ALSO prevents me from getting the new quest "Eyesight to the Blind".

I've read alot of threads, and nothing seems to work.

Yes, I've waited 3 days. I've actually waited 6 days in-game by doing other quests and such.

WHAT SHOULD I DO???

This is seriously driving me mad.

Currently there is no fix sorry I've spent hours looking for one on the web. I've given up hope for this to be solved as it should have been addressed in "their" last comprehensive patch. It shouldn't be that hard to correct as they just need to have scripting recognize that "Still in the Dark" is complete which in your case it is as is mine! Check out The Vault, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki , from time to time to see if someone has discovered a fix. I was hoping that completing Veronica's quest would bypass any glitches but that did not work either. I waited over a full in game week without entering the bunker and the elder said the same thing over and over. i heard you can complete this quest For the Republic, Part 2 with the hangup but you need to thus kill the BoS which would svck if you wanted to remain on good terms etc...

The game has frozen.... And there's NOTHING we can do! Poor.

I did it just fine, I did it with Veronica as a follower, she has quests for you to do regarding the brotherhood of steel. I did all the quests with her, and was able to get a peaceful solution. I she also talks to the elder several times. Are you guys sure you done all of Veronica's quest? Did you do the quest where you had to find some evidence that would try to convince the Elder? Did you show him the pulse gun? Did you go to the shed near helios one?
