Could you be so kind as to make a video showing your memory and playtime with a demo of the game in the major towns ?
Who knows maybe bethesda liked you more and sold you the good ones !

There are no "good copies". Those who say they have no problems are either blind, lying or have yet to trigger whatever it is that destroys this game. I would place my bets on the third option.

All ps3 players are or will experience the same problems.

Pretty much the above.

There was a guy on here who thought everyone was lying and trolling until his copy became laggy

Agreed. I was skeptical at first, like many. When I first read the 'news break' on IGN a week after the game's release, I was like:

My save file was around 6.5 MB at that point (right above where they said the "threshold" was), and I had no problems whatsoever. I actually didn't have any real notable issues until my file hit 11 MB, at which point, extended play sessions (of four or more hours) would begin to lag/drag quite a bit. I now alleviate the issues by resetting the console, which works GREAT...for now (as I mention in another thread here). I'm hoping Bethesda drops patch 1.04 before my game gets too crabby!

I would, however I fear my system is on it's way out... I suspect FW4 still. My system is crashing and freezing doing nothing, and lately discs in the drive @ boot show as corrupted data until I eject and put it back in. Skyrim still plays fine, until my system craps out :-(

I guess some of us just don't ever do whatever's necessary to trigger the problems. On my current character I've completed 157 quests, discovered 287 locations, completed the entire Thieves Guild questline, the entire College of Winterhold questline, have killed 22 dragons and used 19 souls, started the Bard's college stuff, and am right to the end of the main quest line. My save file is on 8354 KB. I haven't the foggiest idea what people could be doing to push that file clear up into the teens.

I'm right about the same as this guy , except I also finished the Companions line and have 1 more Daedric quest to complete . I'm at 185 hours , and still running patch 1.2 .
With that being said , let me say that this is my second character . My first turned into a horrible mess after I got patch 1.2 , and became unplayable .
With this new character , I turned off all autosaves , I manually load my file , and I've made an almost superhuman effort to keep my questlog to a bare minimum . I have suffered some minor lag , and a couple of freezes , but no bugged out dragons or broken quests .

Ah yes I've done the whole companions thing too. I also had a first character that went a bit wonky before 1.2 even came out so I started this new one and have just been more careful about handling my saves and quest progression.

I just got it for Christmas and so far i have 42 hours and 6532K save file. No lagging yet, but I have had 2 freezes, the first time, I picked up the Mera (sp) Beacon quest and found a chest with an item called Elven Boots of ..(can't remember), armor rating was 60 but the picture was that of a curiass. When I equiped the piece my leather breatplate was removed instead of the boots. So I put the leather back on and took 2 steps then the system froze.

The second time was when i was assulting the Northern Keep to save Thojd, son of the merchant in Whiterun. Nothing special, I had killed 1 guard and had 3 more searching for me. I was hiding in the tree line, notched an arrow to get my second kill, when I released the arrow, game froze before the arrow fired.

So yes this will happen to everyone just as it did for Fallout 3.

I've just passed the 10mb save file size and have very little problems other than a couple of freezes, BUT I rarely am able to play more than a couple of hours, I don't tend to collect things, and I haven't been exploring without a related quest because of all the quest bugs. So that might be helping.

i've had very few minor problems. i didn't get a freeze until 1.2, and would guess i've only had about 10-15 total. like another above me said, on large files (10+) it takes upwards of four hours continuous play to trigger any kind of framerate issue and it only occurs outdoors. i have not had to reset system because framerate makes the game unplayable. i have not had a broken quest.

all autosaves turned off. i am a collecter and often have all storage containers in my house loaded, especially with crafting items. i do not use followers (unless forced to by a quest). i keep a rotation of about 20 saves. upon starting a new character i delete all old saves. i do not change my playstyle to avoid transfer doors or fast travel. i can't think of anything else relevant at the moment. i have over 400 hours, with my longest playthrough hitting level 51 and about 210 hours. save file was a little over 12 mb i believe. as mentioned, framerate issue (minor stuttering...nothing like the new vegas 1 frame per minute crashes) after extended play sessions.

a friend plays the same way i do (the only difference is he always uses a follower), but has had lots of problems. many freezes, often resulting in his PS3 having to rebuild database. he also gets many framerate crashes.

some systems seem to be more skyrim friendly than others. my ps3 is a 120gb slim, about 7 months old.

I don't understand how some people said that they didn't have framerate problem. It is obvious right from the beginning!!

When you get to 16MB you may get a good game for up to an hour, or it may lag from withiin 5 mins...But what you will get even at its best is pauses every 25 seconds and lag for 2 seconds(slide show) every 2 mins. but apart from that smooth as silk in fact absolutely perfect

I'm at 16mb now, 285 hours in and my lag has got the worse since i got to 8mb. there are times where i see bad textures pop in and some trees or rocks pop in also and i see the lag. i think that has a lot to do with it also. The fastest I've got the frame rate problems where around 10 minutes after i started my game and the latest was 5 hours after. i have never had a problem with any game system (besides the 360 RROD)or games besides Fallout 3 and Skyrim, and it's a slap to the face to have some one tell you that you don't have problems with the game and that all of those people that are complaining are crazy.

I'm sure people with SSD's aren't having as many problems. (other than quest bugs and broken bookshelves) It would have been nice if a free SSD came with the game.

Or at least a disclaimer on the box that the game isn't quite finished yet, and will require at least 4 patches to improve game performance, stability, and playability.

It seems Bethesda's official stance is: "a glitch or bug only exists if you run into it"
So for people who pop the game in for a couple of hours after they got it for Christmas, play maybe a maximum of 10-20 hours, and then never touch their game again.... the game runs perfectly. No patches required!

If you never bought a house in-game, then you never had broken bookshelves or weapon racks! No need to patch those either!

Backwards flying dragons? I personally never ran into one, so I guess they shouldn't have patched those either. (There's video evidence of it online, but that's some random, minor, inconsequential fluke, and doesn't reflect the overall experience of the MAJORITY of players.)

Hmm, I wonder what else they shouldn't have fixed, magic resistances? I'm sure a lot of people didn't even notice they were broken after the second patch and then fixed again in the following patch. So, for them, Bethesda shouldn't have patched that either.

Not everyone comes here to read what's been broken and fixed. They just play their game and install the patches as they come, not knowing what's changed or fixed. For them, the game is perfect.

And that's all that matters.

I have a 12 mb save, and have played for 102 hrs and am lvl 43. No lag.

In 102 hrs I have had three freezes - which were no big deal.

My friends have the game and no problems either but they're much more casual players - 25 hours tops.

I'd like evidence from anyone supposedly getting a smooth fps in Riften, Markarth, the fall forest, near Morthal, in lighting/mist intensive dungeons, etc. This game is from the very beginning poorly running for every PS3 player and it has the strong potential to simply become unplayable, but nobody is getting a smooth, average fps of 30 on the PS3 period.

I am of the general opinion that the point of being able to roam freely, collect things, meander about, and do whatever should mean that you are able to roam freely, collect things, meander about, and do whatever... The game should just work well regardless of how you like to play. I shouldn't have to make a tremendous effort to make the game do what it is supposed to just do. I paid for a game without too much thought regarding whether or not it would work. There was no notification on the packaging relating to buy at your own risk or gameplay will not be ideal or as depicted.

The "Warranty Inoformation" in the back of my Skyrim manual says
"Bethesda Softworks" warrants to you, the original purchaser of this disc and the games software endoded theron, that under normal use the game will perform sustantially as described in the accompanying manual for a period of 90 daysfrom the date of purchase
Well, this game does not perform as per the manual for I cannot 'Continue playing my most recent saved game', as per page 4 in said manual. Nor can I increase my skills and level up, as I can no longer continue playing, as per page 6. If I attempt to cast a spell my PS3 freezes up and I can no longer see what I am doing, if the game does not crash the PS3 to a point of locking up. I cannot 'fast travel' as per page 10, nor can the gameplay be adjusted as per page 10 to decrease how hard combat is with only 2 FPS.

Skyrim was the first and only game for my PS3, I have since purchased many other games and have had no other problems. Ergo the problem is with the game, not the system. This game is broken and I will be applying for a REFUND.

Yet, this same warranty only allows for an exchange or replacement of this defective product..

Therefore, should I be so bold as to continue to bring back this game month by month so as to placate my sense of justice?

It was the "only" game for your PS3, except for the "other games?" What?

@Zeena,

It absolutely does not work as it should, although I doubt that your plan will work without at least a letter written by a lawyer...
