Force Cell Reset?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 7:19 am

Is there any way to force cell resets or at least a script that can wait 10 days unattended?

As it stands you need to be sitting at attention for over 240 seconds to keep hitting Wait every 24 in-game hours which is absolutely ridiculous, especially because it's not uncommon at all for mod updates to require you to go indoors and do a reset...

If you're on PC then you could use PCB in the console...
I think that's what you're looking for?

I'm also interested in this, since all the objects that are supposed to be hanging from Windhelm's market stalls are still in various states of disarray, lying on / though the ground, etc. (and they're no immovable to boot). Would nabbing them and a PCB / 10-day wait / cell reset work to fix that?

That's purge cell buffer, which I think is one of the commands that was taken out of the .exe.

I think the respawn time is ridiculously long in Skyrim. I'm going to start a thread about this actually. 30 days for some dungeons just seems ridiculous to m, especially when re-entering the area resets the timer, this leaves large patches of wilderness uninhabited for ages in my game.

For interiors you can use the resetinterior console command along with the cell ID. Google Location Codes and you should find a searchable database with all the codes on it. It doesn't help Windhelm Market because it's an exterior, but it might help with dungeons and similar locations.

explanation of cell resets and how to do it with sources can be found here; http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting#tab=Mods_and_Savegames

The link is a guide on how, and why you would do cell resets, mostly for troubleshooting. It should answer all your question. In short, wait 31 days in a cell flagged "never resets" and that is also totally divorced from the worldspace. More detailed explanation is in the guide, with links to UESP and CK wiki articles.
