As a long time player of TES and Fallout games. I have to say for the most part, I am very much enjoying Skyrim. A few things have been a little disappointing for me but the main one is as follows. I put off leveling so I could train 5 times in what I perceive as a minor skill for the character I am trying to build. Once I had managed to train 5 times, I leveled up hoping to stop at level 2 so I could pay for more training. The game however forced me to level all the way to level 6 so that is 20 times that I wasn't allowed to train. Am I missing something? Is there a way for me to not level again once I am in the level up interface even though I can technically level up to level 6?
Another thing I was a little disappointed about was that there was no implementation of the "hardcoe mode" that was implemented so nicely into New Vegas. Having to sleep, eat and drink just made New Vegas that little more immersive and I feel food in particular in Skyrim has very little importance.
Finally, the last little gripe I have is that the Karma system is not present although this is somewhat negated by the fact that hired mercenaries will track you down and try to kill you if you steal too much so I guess really that this is a fair compromise.
In closing I have to say this game is gorgeous and in most respects I think it exceeds every other game Bethesda has made to date. It's just being forced to level up beyond the level I want and the lack of hardcoe mode that has proved to be an annoyance.
