oh yess? TERA? just as an example. that game runs pretty smooth on my PC and looks awsome.
Generaly i would love to have a visceral first person combat system. WHY ZOS why arent you any creative.
EDIT: rune is awsome. everyone play rune!
Indeed, I thought Tera was Cryengine for some reason, but it turns out you're right. It runs quite smoothly. Obviously the questing is rubbish, but the engine seems to work well enough.
This is interesting but quite contradictory.
Leveling up gains you access to new (better) armor and abilities, that's gaining power. No, it's not a "I'm level 5 so now I get +100 HP +5 STR," but considering now that I have reached level 5 I can equip that +5 STR +100 HP armor where a level 4 cannot... yeah, quite a contradictory statement.
Myes, it is built in the vein of a shooter or similar, so it's not likely to have much of a leveling system. But that isn't really the point - I have little interest in the overall game but it sounds like they might have some interesting ideas on how to create a first/third person melee combat game in real time, in an MMO that's viable with PvP. Hell, even outside of an MMO that's pretty interesting, considering the fact that TES isn't exactly polished to perfection with regards to its combat.
In short, any game that attempts proper first person combat in a swords/melee based universe is worth looking at.
