Fortify (power) Destruction Gear?

Post » Wed Jan 16, 2013 9:31 pm

I've only had a couple mage in my 20+ character builds. However, i'm unable to find the fun in them in comparison to a melee or stealth/assassin build. I only play on Master level with my characters, but playing a Mage seems to be a death sentence or a serious grind to take down enemies on Master due to the weakness of magic. So my question's are mainly about what gear is there in Skyrim that make Destruction magic more powerful? I'm aware of the mask's included in the Dragonborn DLC but is there any other gear in the game that Enhances the power of Destruction spells? I'm not concerned about fortify destruction spell cost. I do realize there are probably several other threads on this topic. But i've spent time searching this question and only get BS fortify destruction cost topics... Very little info on my main concern. I'm afraid I already know the answer to the question.... well over 1k hours played you would think I would have already stumbled across these.

Cost reduction is the only enchantment option. However, Fortify Dest from potions grants increase in damage.

Nope.

Spoiler
Aside from items that reduce casting cost, what's in Dragonborn are the only items that boost the damage of Destruction spells.

Which is fine with me as I feel that Destruction spells work just fine with out any kind of added boost. The Magicka cost reduction gear is all that's really needed.

You think needing 15+ of the most powerful spell in the game to take down a draugr death lord is "fine"? That's cute. That's enough mana to go OOM 5 times over.

Use the "75" spells with dualcast and impact perk.
A lot less than 15+ shots. (also draugr death lord are supposed to be "boss" enemys)

Yeah i'm aware of the enchanting and alchemy aspects. Just hoped I missed something over the past 14 months.... O' well guess I'll have to become an "overpowered" Alchemist then.... Thanks guys. A shame we have to play on adept or expert just to enjoy a pure mage. Better start hunting glowing mushrooms, Nightshades and Ash Creep Clusters ;)

And you're adorable, and I'm fantastically handsome.

OP indicated he didn't want a 'BS fortify destruction cost' thread. Go ahead and open one if you want.
