So, I'm one of those who think of forum people as their avatars - if their avatars picture a person anyways. That also goes for ponies, dragons and other living beings. If someone has a female avatar but is male or the other way around, it makes me a bit confused, because I think of them as a girl (or boy) while knowing it's in fact the opposite.
But I've also noticed that my own avatar influences how I feel about my "forum self", and probably also influences my posts... the attitude and style of them. I feel like a different person with my current Vivec avatar than when I was Erandur, looking all serious and saintly, and the somewhat aggressive Dunmer I used before that. Though I don't know whether it has a real effect on my posts or how they're percieved.
I wonder if this happens to some of you too? Do you subconsciously take on the role of your avatar?
