Forum Backgrounds

Seeing as Dawnguard has it's own background, any chance of having the other non-Skyrim forums having custom art?

This is a serious flaw in the forum and needs to be rectified with great haste and brutality.

I doubt they'd go back and change it now. Probably for any new releases.

I am not keen on the custom backgrounds preferring a plain one. I find them distracting and unnecessary, guess I could just "Stylish" them out. :)

This is serious business, and it requires immediate action. Someone PM the admin before it's too late! :ahhh:

I've rung the whitehouse, executive order Namibia has been activated.

I'm not familiar with the term, is it a form of html editing?

What the heck is the community discussion background supposed to be?

I wouldn't mind more personalized backgrounds for each section, seeing as how Skyrim/Dawnguard have their own. Fallout should have a background with Lanius and NCR Veteran Rangers dueling to the bloody death.

I personally like the plain background sometimes fancy backgrounds mess with text and are nice to look at once, but its a bit like changing your wallpaper, i dont want to look at the same thing over and over.

I don't understand how anyone would want any background. The forums are so horribly coded that when the background is displayed and you scroll it svcks up cpu cycles like no one's business. On weaker devices, it makes forum browsing impossible on the Warrior skin. Thankfully the other skins aren't nearly as badly written.

CD scrolling CPU usage:

Warrior skin: average of 25% with peaks at 30%

Elegant skin: Average of 10% with peaks at 15%

Even though that doesn't translate into any problems due to my rig being powerful enough, that extra 15% does translate into excess heat and electricity usage that I save by not using the horrid Warrior skin.

The blatant jpeg compression artifacts on the current background really bothers me.

Personal preference? The elegant skin hurts my eyes due to it's contrasts, and I think the warrior skin looks good.

Background image != Warrior skin. As I recall, the background image is where most of the problems lie in the warrior skin, as many people disabled it using Adblock plus and saw a massive boost to performance while maintaining the Warrior sink's look.
