I found a horse, can I keep it?

Hi,

First want to say to gamesas, it's quite an amazing game. I may travel through an area and see nothing, and then a day or two later travel through that same area and find something totally new. Love that. Makes places seem non-static.

Now on to my question about horses.

I cam across a dead bandit and his horse was standing over the bandits body. Apparently it's not stealing since it doesn't highlight the text in red, but I wonder if I get on and ride this horse will it be 'MY" horse, or when I get off of it, it will return to the dead bandits body location?

If it doesn't turn into MY horse just by riding it, is there some way to do that within the game?

Thanks

Yeah maybe, I found it near the starting town what ever it's called, up in the mountains on my way to somewhere that the name escapes me for the moment.

The horse that I found is an appaloosa with spots on it's rear end.

Well at least it's a free faster ride to that town I must go to, but bummer that it will run off since it's owner is dead. I wonder if maybe I can check it in at a stable outside of a big enough city to keep it.
