Found lots of stores around my town breaking the street date

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 8:07 am

However, none of them were selling the PC version.

I know I couldn't play until launch anyway..... but I wanted to use my map as a blanket while I dream about playing.

I called my Gamestop about 30 minutes ago and they said not till midnight, I like you just want to hold my PC version and caress it like it was a puppy.

Didn't think about using the map as a blanket especially since it's "coughburlapcough" lol! :shakehead:

Gamestop is one of the stores that will NEVER break street dates. Why would people even try?

Now that I think about it, I don't really see the harm in releasing the pc version. We can't play it now anyway. The main reason Pete listed on Twitter for holding to street date is patches and support if I remember correctly. That' s not an issue if I can't play.

Then again, you might have an issue with angry customers calling in about not being able to play. Perhaps the clerk didn't tell them about Steam...

Probably not a good idea.

Pretty much, I mean they would be selling people a product that they cant even use. And it has a serial key, so they wont take returns on them. It would just piss a lot of people off.

32 hours is not that long considering that some of us have been waiting 5 and a half years for this game (Me Personally, 3 years).

Don't mind the quasi-intellectuals. Let them point out random, useless stuff.

My Gamestop won't sell until midnight and they are having the party

BUT

The game actually unlocks here in Central Time Zone at 11 PM !!!

So, why would anybody hang around for a party when the game has already been unlocked for an hour?

psh, isn't stopping the gamestop employees from playing/leaking the game early.

BTW- Gamestop released MW2 early, got in REAL big trouble for it.

Checked every store in my area that sells video games, and none of them had it. Major disappointment :sadvaultboy: .

Target had a place already set for it, labeled and everything.

So close, yet so far...

GameStop broke the release date in all three of their stores in Brisbane, with the other chains tagging along shortly behind 'em.

I got my PC copy a couple of hours ago - but my computer is also broken so I'm throwing a fit :(

Well when one store does it a domino effect follows. Those who don't sell early are bound to lose revenue due to their competitors that are selling early, at least that is how they see it.

I don't care if people get to play early or not, especially an xbox version, but I feel bad for the big release they had planed lol. Then I realize how rich they are getting.
