Found out how to drop lit torches,no mods needed

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 6:54 am

I dicovered this accidentally while messing around with my inventory.
This is how I did it.

1. You must have ATLEAST 6 torches
2. Go to your quickslot and equip your torch, then unequip it,do this a couple of times Skip this step, after testing it more, you dont need to do this.
3. Go into your inventory and drop 3+ torches at once, you can drop more if you want but it has to be atleast 3.

You can now grab them and move them around anywhere you want.

Also note that for some reason, they'll glitch and float in the air until you bump into them.

Tested on the Xbox 360,not sure if it works on other systems but it should.

I mainly use it to light up rooms in my house that are really dark, like the alchemy and enchanting rooms. Bethesda for some reason decided to make those rooms have no lighting whatsoever (Riften house,Windhelm House, etc.) I also use them to throw down really dark places,or mess around.

If this is already known, then my bad, just thought I'd like to share.

Edit: if it doesnt work, you might need to steal some torches off the walls in caves/dungeons since those are already lit.

Really? I use them alot in Blackreach, that place is really dark, unless you have Night Eye.

But I use this glitch mainly to light up my house.

Snooki would approve of this, she likes throwing things around.

Now I want to make a Guido in Skyrim...

Being able to place lit lanterns everywhere is the biggest feature I miss from Morrowind. It had coloured ones too. My house looked like a disco. :D

Anyway, it's good to know this bug/feature works for console players too. I use it all the time in my houses.

What is step 4 and what do you mean by profit in step 5?
I like the post though, as I hate not being able to see my weapon plaques in Riften...

Yeah, and you could hold almost any kind of light, even these badass Christmas Carol style silver triple candle stick things

Sorry about that lol, theres not really a 4th or 5th step, just 3 steps. Well, technically 2,but the 2nd step I left up so people can try out incase it doesn't work for them.

And yeah same, thats exactly why I decided to share this. It was a cool glitch I found out by accidentally dropping alot of torches at once, and figured hey,why not take advantage of it.

The torches also stay in the same spot in your house, even if you exit and come back,so it helps alot.
