60 FPS cap

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 4:07 pm

I didn't see any options in any of the menus, and my game is capped at 60 FPS. I'm playing on a 120Hz monitor and I'd like to uncap the framerate so I can take advantage of my hardware. Is there any way to change this? Maybe a console command? (Which I can't get into by the way. Anyone know how to bring down the console?)

The eye can only see up to 60 FPS. so its rather pointless to have any more than that.

Wrong. The human eye doesn't see in frames. It sees a steady stream of light. There is a noticeable difference between 60Hz and 120Hz.

Yep, it's running really well. There's texture pop-in when I'm spinning around quickly, but I'm not getting any artifacts or any of the crazy graphical glitches I'm seeing other people get.

most people say 30fps (which makes 40fps desired for most gaming), thats what movies are shot in. You must hate watching movies you superhuman you!

Motion pictures are shot in 24 FPS. European TV is 25 (50i). American TV is 30 (60i). PC games and Rage on consoles are 60, can go even higher with a proper monitor.

I think they know but don't care, to many consoles out there with kids buying up the games with mommy and daddy's money.
Just like i run multi-GPU config on my PC and it's pretty much pointless now. Microsoft broke innovations back with Xbox and DirectX........
I predict we will be still using Directx 9 until the end of time. Hell i bet Heaven and Hell are rendered in Directx 9. Jesus won't look to blocky though
cause he might be cool and use OpenGL. Then he will just move at 15FPS, maybe that's how he walked on water... he lagged so bad gravity couldn't catch up.
