FPS for PC

I've had 30mbps internet for 2 years now, with no real FPS (or MMO, thank frog) to take advantage of it.

I just started playing MOH Spearhead again for [censored] and giggles. It's nice, but still lacking.

I'm a big fan of CoD 2, and I'll probably get that again soon, but the last time I played it, it was incredibly hectic/chaotic for a game where you can't sprint.

So basically, I'm not a very skilled FPS player. I'll admit, I have a guilty pleasure with the newer CoD killstreaks and lax gameplay.

Should I get the Counterstrike bundle on Steam, or a Call of Duty game? CS has never been keen on noobs. I haven't played MW3 or BO 2. I also am turned off by the cost of DLC for some of those CoD games. I keep hearing terrible things about playing them on PC as well, but surely that's nonsense.

Battlefield games look too boring. I just want to shoot some people and call in some aircraft while I take breaks from reading philosophy.

Are you wanting to play single player campaigns or against other players? If you want to play a PvP war game and have a modern gaming rig you might consider Planetside 2. It's has startlingly good production value and game play for a free to play game. But, it takes a pretty powerful CPU to get good performance in big battles.

TF2 is always good. I've heard great things about Tribes: Ascend as far as speed goes.
