FPS framerate fix

I found a simple fix that boosted my framerate by a lot. I was getting 25-40 fps and now I have a steady 60fps on Vsync. Nevertheless, I have HUGE framerate drops when I'm near a river, it goes from 60 to lowish 20's. Before this "fix", my gpu usage never went above 40-50%, now it's mostly always at 99%.
Here's what I found :

- Turn off AA and AF completely in the game options
- Put the shadows to LOW in the game menu
- If you want some AA or AF, use the nvidia or CCC panel to adjust the level
- Vsync with triple buffering, otherwise you'll get really bad screen tearing and a lot of "micro" stuttering when not at 60fps.

I have a GTX 570, a phenom II X4 955 BE and 8Gb RAM.

I get a steady 60 fps, except around rivers and water places, even if I uncheck all the reflection options.

Anyone can confirm this fix to be working and not just only for me?
Also, any other people can report the "massive fps drop around water" ?
