I actually disagree.
I like how the females in this game are flawed. Every single one of them. It's very immersive. Even the teenage women look older than their time; a result of the harsh life that Skyrim brings, and the stress of the times. There are very attractive women, but there are also so-so women, and "ugly" women. Everyone looks stressed and tired. Very nice, imo.

She rejoins after Mirrak.

She still had all her stuff, full double enchanted stalhrim I put on her, etc.

Yes, you can have her as a follower but you either have to bribe or persuade her and she will always be your follower after that. (Great follower btw)

Update-
After completing many other side quests, then finally MQ, asked her to follow again and she still had all my precious junk.
